| Which of those asked travelling fans to make a round trip of a few hundred miles on a Sunday night?
So answer the question - which of those games is acceptable and what is acceptable?

we sold near 20k tickets for the wembley final...
the final is the big showpiece so other teams supporters also go...as with every year

Out of interest which of these reached the level deemed "acceptable" by the worthies on this thread? And what is acceptable?
Fev v Cas - 4165
Widnes v saints - 3069
Keighley v Wire - 2196
Bulls v Dons - 3210
Wigan v Cru - 4198
Fev v Wigan - 4082
Just so we know what the benchmark/criteria is to pass this kind of thing'"
that widnes v saints one was awful!!!
but lets face it all cup games upto the semi final are poorly attended compared to the league game.
same in football...such as the carling cup.

So why try to justify the Giants support off the back of it then????

Have we ascertained which were all SL quarter finals at the home of the second-placed team yet?
Perhaps those attendances were so low because the clubs were big meanies and didn't include free tickets with their fifty quid season passes.

You want to compare those games against your TABLE TOPPING TEAMS, ALL SUPER LEAGUE GAME, IN THE CUP QF????
Low crowds in early rounds, sometimes trans-Pennine on a Friday night, cannot be used to justify the apalling crowd at Giants this week.
Compare it like for like. Not good, eh?

| Top 2 side at home in a QF with Wembley at stake against a team from the same division is hard to compare with Wigan v Crusaders, but you would hope that a club of the calibre of Hudds has more than 2500 die hards to fall back on when times get tough, again.

| Or we can compare say
an all super league tie between a newly promoted club and one of the most successful teams of the modern era playing what is supposedly a bit of a derby game
a game played between what are supposed to be two of the most deeply died in the wool RL towns that are just streets apart fighting out an ancient derby
Or a game where (again) one of the most successeful teams in SL are playing another local team in a game not on TV
Or since the last poster mentioned Wigan Cru - the top team in the country, current holders, (and better supported than the Giants) fighting for a place in the next round could only get a small amount more
etc etc
in fact if we factor in London would have attended with very few fans (no fault of theirs, and not a slight on them at all) it actually stacks up fairly evenly.
Even if it doesnt - I still havent had an answer as to what constitues acceptable
Or is the answer "not Huddersfield's attendance, no matter what it is"?

| it was a poor crowd! get over it Hudd fans.
Those who attended i applaud, thoses who didnt and preffered to watch it on tv should be ashamed.
how many came to the Shay last year for your home game against the Welshies?
4892.
not the best that!

| Quote: GIANT DAZ "firstly - that is not a 'normal' crowd , we dont get 2,500 crowds usually , there were reasons for it being that low - there was only 500 more for Widnes v Saints in last round, cup crowds are low all over .........now if we were to get 2,500 in our next league game then i may start to worry...............till then i will enjoy my team's exciting brand of entertaining rugby and look forward to been 80 minutes away from another cup final - that was the prize for winning todays game BTW !!'"
It cant be that "exciting" if the faithfull dont turn up to watch

| Fartown attendances this year so far compared to same games last year (day played in brackets):
Widnes: 2011 - n/a. 2012(8869).
Wire: 2011(Fri) - 7224. 2012(Sat) - 8184. {+960, +13%}
Saints: 2011(Sat) - 7843. 2012(Sun) - 9194. {+1351, +17%}
Cas: 2011(Sun) - 5237. 2012(Fri) - 6928. {+1691, +32%}
Salford: 2011(Tue) - 6042. 2012(Fri) - 6988. {+946, +16%}
Hull FC: 2011(Sun) - 8822. 2012(Mon) - 9950. {+1128, +13%}
Average: 2011 - 7091. 2012(so far) - 8352. {+1261, +18%}
Not bad in a recession, pretty good growth. Still the bigger crowds of Wigan, Leeds and Bradford at home to come. No-one from Huddersfield is trying to claim our attendances are fantastic, or what a table topping side deserves. What they are though is growing, after nigh on 40 years of dross and near bankruptcy. From little acorns...

Nice attempt at diversion...but this thread is about the CC game, not games where Giants fans got a season ticket in a lucky bag from the local shop.
