It is called marketing - that is why the revenues generated by the AFL are so much larger than those generated by the NRL - these guys know how to promote a game and extract maximum revenues for doing so - simples!!!

| I'm sure that will come. In reality there is no bigger way of getting publicity than signing one of the top players in the top code in that city. It'd be like WA Reds signing Ben Cousins, pointless on the field but gets pr off it. pr, now there's a concept the NRL needs to learn!
ps Dally is that the best you can come up with for NRL players filling Int RU teams? 2 RU players that had a go at League then went back to RU after a year or two  |

the day we need to sign an AFL player for publicity will do we.
we dont need mickey mouse acts to get people interested
our game is good enough to attract people on its own merits
that AFL and union need to do this is a reflection of their failure to match RL as a spectacle.

2 failed league players = stars in union.
as i said before, without RL union teams would struggle
its lucky the nrl is around to provide players for union GLOBALLY.
