They should never have got rid of them. The idea that Scrums bring more risk when players are hitting each other at all other times is a joke.
The NRL never got rid of scums. They actually brought in rules to make set plays from Scrums more advantageous to the team with the ball.

| Quote: Beverley red "I can understand that it will be difficult but International football is the pinnacle of the sport if it messes up the NRL so be it. Delay the start of their next season. Every other sport is making huge efforts to get competition’s played. It is time the NRL promoted the world game & not their competition, I won’t hold my breath as they have a long record of disrespecting anything not NRL. If we can have the Euros going ahead then a competition with fewer teams should be easy.'"
It's not so easy to just delay it. The players Union won't accept a shortened calender but the same amount of games. Broadcasters also have to agree to a later start date for the season.

| 96 people died in the UK yesterday of Covid or a Covid related illness.
You're Guinea Pigs in a tory science experiment and it's not going to be an issue if Australia rock up, because at the moment, the UK is attractive as a hooker with T-shirt declaring STD's come as standard.....Tokyo Olympics will be the litmus. The Euros have shown how this thing spreads

| Quite shocking that the NRL are putting themselves and their domestic competition above the world cup.
Without the NRL players, it becomes an absolute waste of time.
Can it be postponed to next season and will things be any better then ?
One of the major reasons as to why the international game has gone backwards is the "Aussies" feeling that they dont need the rest of the world and specifically the UK (and France) etc, as their domestic comp is "better" but, this is mickey poor on their part.
It's quite ridiculous that "everyone" has signed without the Aussies, a move clearly designed to put them under pressure and if we go ahead without them or, try to form "international" sides with players based in Europe, this will be a major, major flop.
Get the Aussies on board now or, postpone.
Any costs of postponing should come from the NRL but, this would be unlikely to happen.

That is patently false information and deliberately misleading and scaremongerin, that is not the situation whatsoever, not even the government have stated that!
96 peope were declared to have died BY ANY CAUSE, that died within 28 days of a positive test OR decreed to be a coronavirus death with no test whatsoever (as per UK governments own guidelines to GPs etc last March) on the back of any one of 20+ symptoms, even if the person signing off the death cert did not know, nor had ever met the deceased or seen their medical history.
With at least 97% of the PCR being false positives of the 'cases' and no infection present at 35 cycles of PCR https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-ar ... 91/5912603 and Uk continues to do 40-45 cycles of PCR and Johnson and Hancock admitted to 95% false positives of the cases last year, that alone means statistically there were ZERO actual deaths WITH infection of anything. And further, that infection IF it is cultured (they rarely are) can be anything, this is specifically stated by the CDC.
CDC 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) PCR Diagnostic Panel (July 13, 2020)
https://www.fda.gov/media/134922/download
"do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The agent detected may not be the definite cause of disease. Laboratories within the United States and its territories are required to report all positive results to the appropriate public health authorities”.
Page 38
• “Detection of viral RNA may not indicate the presence of infectious virus or that 2019-nCoV is the causative agent for clinical symptoms”.
• “This test cannot rule out diseases caused by other bacterial or viral pathogens”.

Hey. Tin foil hat guy. A simple glance at the registrar of deaths over the last 18 months shows a huge increase in the number of people dying compared to the years before hand. Delighted for you and your sense of individual superior intelligence, but the reality is this thing is killing people. When the good folk of the UK stayed indoors, your imaginary death rate dropped, as did infections. No amount of manipulation of figures will ever convince me that the 1% if tin foil wearing anti vax loons are correct whilst the rest of us are nowt more than sheep.
Speaking of sheep. We've still only got 26 corpses because we don't feel the need to open our borders so Sharon and Tracy could have a weekend in benidorm......90,000 cases and 160 deaths in the last 2 days....and the number of people feeling that I'll they needed to visit a hospital doubling daily.........

So you think that out of 90k cases having 160 ppl die is worth locking the whole country down and hoping it will just go ? Seems crazy to me given were not calling out for all cars to be locked down as a similar amount of people were killed just crossing the road over the last 2 days too, more people have starved to death since the epidemic started than have died from covid, it exists yes people are dying from it yes but let's not overexagerate or make out like a few hundred people dying of a highly infectious virus out of tens of thousands of people who have it is anything to worry about to the extent of being afraid to leave your house !!!!

If they press ahead with their own international fixtures, which they are planning they should be kicked out of the international federation. This has possibly pushed Uk RL to the brink of the abyss.

| Gutless pathetic morons. Just goes to show they don’t give a dam about international football or anything outside of their cosy little world. This is about the end of our game. Last night I watched the first game of the cricket 100s full of players from around the world putting on a show, grabbing the headlines & carving out a place in the sporting programme. If the big tough men from down under can’t do that it reflects badly on them & puts our game on the back foot.
The RFL & super league bent over backwards to get the tournament played ( even going to win percentages to ensure our season finished before the cup started ).
Just hope there is some way we can hit their competition hard financially to make up for lost revenue. It makes me very sad & angry that a nation once known for its can do attitude & sense of fair play has turned into a bunch of self centred inward looking jerks.

| They shouldn't have announced it was still going ahead last week.
They can't continue go ahead now. It would be a farce and nothing short of a joke.
Players would then be entitled to annual leave under their NRL contracts which would mean they wouldn’t return to preseason training until late January.
That alone is a problem. The players wouldnt be getting much of pre season before the season starts

Indeed.
At a time when pretty much EVERY other sport is busting a gut to get international fixtures on, the Aussies have put themselves before the sport. Absolutely shocking.
If their real issue is "player welfare" (players not having enough time for a full pre season) then, why not put the start of their season back by 2 weeks.
After all that has been going on over there, this shouldn't be the end of the world.
Their non participation kills the comp stone dead, they should be really proud of themselves.
