He was. But when all the clubs at the bottom of the league voted against it, hardly his fault

| Just out of interest is it the same set up in football? that is, in the permier league for example, do the clubs all vote on major changes in the same way as RL does or do the leaders have the clout to force things through, and its then on their heads if it fails.
in fact are all sports leagues run along the same admin lines as RL of is it perhaps a bit outdated?

Well thanks for the reply, I get the venture capital thing if these people are adept at putting £Millions into a straight forward business that provides goods or services and reaping £Millions more as a result when sales rise thanks to that money being "invested".
But I can't think for the life of me what Superleague could have done with a capital investment. Superleague isn't a real business.
Those who own the clubs chuck Millions away because they can and because it's fun, and often because it's a release from proper business??
Doesn't Mr. Moran sink £Millions into Wire because it's a great hobby and something to enjoy outside proper business??

I mean you're usually wrong on everything, but not by this much.
The clubs which voted against were led by Leeds and St Helens who have about as much interest in surrendering control of their future income streams for a paltry amount of money up front as they have in having a second, smaller, team from Wigan in the league .

Sorry if facts hurt.
Leeds and Saints voted against Toronto being excluded and voted against the PI rubbish.
Leigh are tangential but it's pretty clear the two most successful clubs in the league weren't seeking for them to be included.
On topic, Hetherington and McManus have their sights set on Elstone next - he'd better start delivering or he might find himself in trouble.

Bart, he hates Leigh with a passion. IF, and i do say IF Leigh do well in SL, I will be on the warpath to all those who have got Leigh nailed on for relegation.

The private equity investment. All the chairmen at the botttom of the league that have no money voted against it whilst The ones who do like McManus, Moran and Hetherington voted for it
Another reason why the skid rows of SL have too much sway and why our game is an embarrassment

So you're saying the ones with no money voted against a cash injection.
And the ones with loads of money voted for it despite its very aggressive terms and conditions?

It's just whoever it is goading as usual, dunno why you feed it?
The issue was that several SL clubs were heading for or maybe were or still are near collapse financially.
The money would have been for survival in the short term, venture capital isn't for that, it's for restructures that attract more money thus justifying the high fee charged to look into the possibilities.
Mr. Sadler spotted that one easily enough and suggested clubs continued to rattle the begging bowl at the Government....
