Not the same thing Jim. Argyle stopped paying his creditors before this season, then he stopped paying his own players half a dozen games in, and he walked away.
Neil Hudgell wants to walk away now but he has paid all his creditors and players.
Maybe your falling for the "It was Covid what did it" nonsense re:Argyle. The Billionaire lost only Millions on TWP. That didn't "bankrupt" him. If anyone thinks it did show us the listing for his Bankruptcy?

Featherstone, Leigh, London, Toulouse'"
Nice idea but these clubs don't have their player squads ready. They are doing it by "Licensing" That gives Newcastle Bradford, Widnes and York a chance as well.
Ground, Finances, Player development, attendances, commercial revenue were the criteria last time we had licensing.
On field performance could be used using 2019 final placings Toulouse 40 points York 39 points, Leigh 36 points, Fev 34 points.
People could be happy Toulouse get in as that international "expansion" would be a good headline to deflect from Canada's abandonment. Other clubs may claim Toulouse aren't a full member club and should not get in front of an English side. That could leave York in pole position........

| Has to be Toulouse or the games credibility will go from next to zero, to zero
However, no doubt it will Bradford

If Toulouse are justifiably accepted in SL, then good luck to them.
However, in my view,if there is promotion next season, I'm happy for any other club to EARN their right to a place in SL for the 2022 season.

But None of them have a team trying to play in Super League, and leeds is not a Pit Village is it. And I do not live in Leeds I live in a former pit town. The Wakefield met cannon sustain its two current teams properly as it is, never mind a 3rd. Its Ridiculous to even consider Fev, or Leigh. Bradford or Toulouse all the way, maybe Widnes, in fact any Uk side that has not won the World Club Championship needs not apply.

I'll add that to the list of criteria
It's easy to see just how easily "someone" could pick a certain club to get the nod though.
If the independent body, charged with selecting the best/right candidate is given a tight enough remit, it will be a one or two horse race.
Just to throw a curve ball into the mix, could New York or Ottawa submit an application or perhaps a "new face" from outside the heartlands ?
The whole situation could descend into further farce

Wakefield Met as an area does sustain Castleford and Wakefield because both clubs have benefactors on top of their fans and sponsors to make up the losses to be able to (just about) hit the standards for Superleague. As a local governing body AFAIK Wakefield Met do nothing for Cas and Wakey, but both clubs have spent most of the last 24 years in Superleague regardless.
As for Mark Campbell didn't he do a fantastic job with the ground and preparing Fev for Superleague before unveiling Faisal Nahaboo as the clubs most important addition along with Faisal's wallet?? IIRC Nahaboo took fright when Fev were on the cusp of SL and as a result Fev became Leeds "A".......
I don't blame Mr. Campbell for showing ambition to the Fev fans, when Fev aren't accepted he can blame Superleague. IF Fev were accepted that may give Mr. C a big shock unless he's found a few £Million to back his ambitions this time.

NO!!
Please don't forget that Elstone's analysis of North America was not just based on Toronto Wolfpack. It included Ottawa and New York.....and anyone else thinking about taking their NA team into the leagues here.
Elstone's presentation to the SL clubs declared North America a dead duck. As is the way of these things although Superleague can reject, and HAVE rejected the North American dream, Rimmer as the RFL can still keep them in the lower leagues here..............

| Most interestingly, any "new" SL club is going to start off "behind the 8 ball", in terms of recruitment and if there is to be relegation at the end of next season (depending on the terms of any new TV deal), this could be a poisened chalice.
The chances of the new club getting relegated will increase with every day that goes by before a decision is reached.

Then on that account Wakefield isn't a lot village it's not even a town it's a city and has never had a pit with its name to it, grow up will you and stop this consultant ranting about pits when it's not relevant to its past now

That's absolutely spot on.
But I would draw people's attention to Mr. Beaumont who has already strengthened his team considerably and then announced to Superleague if they just pick Leigh he'll immediately sink more of his money into his team, with more already lined up decent signings.
I can't think for the life of me it would be fair of Superleague to just say OK thanks Degsy your in...
So they have had to open up the opportunity to others. We know that Mark Campbell can't afford it. We know Toulouse have stepped forward but again I don't know if they have any more money than Fev. To date I don't think Bulls, Widnes, York or Newcastle have gone public to say they want that place ......... Have London??

I think someone's fearing being turned over by a little old pit village

Hope the listing of Leeds pits helped. I can give you another 20.....
The beauty of Wakefield is that no decent soccer club has ever come along to the city, and Rugby Union in the city declined to Sandal.
The catch 22 is that they don't have Simon Moran and a benevolent local council to build the stadia and purchase the top players.
It's sadly the luck of the draw. David and Carol Martin won £66Million on the Lottery once, would you like to start getting tickets every week, it sounds just about enough to build the stadium, fill it with over 10,000 fans (I was in such a crowd against CAS) and buy in a winning side.
Let me know if you do and win it can I be your CEO?

Talking of the "Colliers" Fev's Mark Campbell has gone public to lambast the selfish Superleague who only think of themselves, and their disgusting self interested rejection of Toronto Wolfpack. Mr. Campbell finishes his "self interest" attack on Superleague by insisting that Featherstone should have their place.....
Wow, i am actually agreeing with you on the second part, Fev and the likes would be happy to get selected into super league then happy to pull the drawbridge up to stay there.

From this list London or Tolouse and they should be exempt from relegation for 2-3 seasons. If we don't want the game to die we have to help it grow. Sorry for Leigh/Fev/whoever but it's getting very close to crunch time.'"
If you want consistency in that, are we kicking Catalan out as well? Even without completing there final 3 fixtures due to COVID, they have still managed to fulfil 4 more fixtures than Catalan?
