But it’s not a UK club. Every club has difficulties but none of the other 11 SL teams have pulled out.
If Hudds, Wakey, Cas or other SL team pulled out there would not be this post because they would be summarily kicked out and if allowed to compete in the Championship be starting with a 12pt deduction.
It’s your post that illicit’s laughter and amazement...

Toronto saying that they wouldn't take any TV monies as they wanted their own deal in N. America was a definite mistake on their part.
I dont think they were precluded from a share of the Sky monies, it was more a case of them opting out, which no doubt helped their smooth passage into "our" comp.
'"
That's just wrong, and I don't know what on earth this "[iown deal in North America[/i"?? was!! They certainly were precluded from a share of the SKY monies against their wishes.
[i"Perez believes the financial issues caused by not being able to play home games this year have been exacerbated by TWP not taking a share of central funding - something Perez claims it was initially agreed they would be eligible for prior to entering League One. In response to Perez's claims, the RFL issued a statement underlining that all discussions regarding Toronto being accepted into the British professional game were on the understanding they would not receive central funding."All discussions with Toronto prior to their entry into League One were on the basis that the club did not receive central distributions” [/i
No need to reply, the record is straight on this now.

Don't encourage him, he deliberately puts these posts in for reactions. Does it on TRL as well, and last time the "reaction" was deleted by the mods as that's his oxygen.....Anyway........
There have been some basket cases struggling at the bottom of SL, Celtic Crusaders 2009 and London Broncos 2014. Despite serious money problems they both saw it out. In this case it's different - the owner had the money to see it out. But the game seems to want to ignore that the sum needed was peanuts against the man's wealth and the excuse was that somehow this pandemic makes extremely rich people poor.
The stock market isn't suffering and shares can be traded for cash in a matter of minutes. There is so much disingenous about this pantomime.
But real shock here is that somehow only four SL clubs are saying no to the proposed re-instatement in which SL are somehow supposed to get a share of TWP's latest "Snake Oil" project (do you remember the last one launched in their name?), so what is it with the others??
What is driving seven SL clubs to want to save them and probably several ambitious Championship clubs to keep quiet? Logically saving TWP saves part 2 of the plan (Ottawa) and Part 3 (New York) - I you can think why let me know mate....

| They should give (and should have given previously), TWP their full share of the pie.
If they don't bring TWP back in, they will HAVE to give whoever replaces them a full share.
TWP on a full share brings far more to the game (at least potentially), than bringing in any other club, bar perhaps Toronto.

So you are agreeing that they were precluded from any monies from Sky ?
And have you not suggested (many times) that they had failed in their attempts to gain any NA TV Deal ??

Tbf no one is advocating kicking them out. They took that decision themselves.

Mate, their owner was/is a $$Billionaire and still is. Their owner always wanted to get into the NRL as he is Australian. Recently Melbourne Storm's sole owner decided he'd like to share ownership and invited David Argylle to go join him there. It was in the Sydney Morning Herald.
They tell us Argyle ran out of money but he didn't. They then tell us that he ran out of cash and his $Billions were tied up in his businesses, but it wasn't. He could have sold shares with just a phone call to his broker. I don't remember Covid shutting the stock market down? A full share of the SKY money is only £200,000 a year. Argyle spent $$30,000,000 on Toronto Wolfpack, he just didn't need the peanuts from SKY.
Read the stuff on the new potential owner, £200K is nothing to him as well.
The SKY money is paid by SKY so they can televise English clubs for their English fans who pay their subscriptions. There is no legal or moral requirement for TWP to get English TV money and if you go back through the archives you can find Eric Perez boasting that TWP will get far more TV money from North American TV.
The lack of English TV money had zero to do with Argyle walking....

You must believe everything you read in newspapers.
The article you believe was written in February - it is since that date that Covid19 has had an effect on finance...and health.

They talked about TV deals probably to get approval to enter the League structure here. Perez later waved criticism of no TV deal from North American TV away by explaining he needed at least five Superleague Clubs to be North American to get such a deal. (At that time as usual your club was one destined to make way for the North American dream).
At no time whatsoever (well corrections welcome) did Superleague agree that if TWP came into Superleague they would get the TV money.
But this TV money nonsense is rubbish. What's £200K to a Billionaire??
Way back at the start of the Covid crisis the Stock Markets plunged. But they climbed right back up as the year progressed so the ornery nasty trolling above is just that - nasty trolling. The Billionaire is still worth 95% of what he was worth before covid.
Makes it all the more disgusting he walked and dumped on his players and families.
