Apart from one incident, Kelly has been great at Hull, no sign of any trouble, been unbeliable on the pitch. Far too good for the Championship htough, I think if his attitude is right he would stll do a job for a lower NRL team.

Well there's a chance of this if TWP and the SL bosses don't agree their re-instatement. As it stands any new owner seems to want guarantees of going straight back into Superleague and no points deduction, i.e. he doesn't want to be penalised for the sins of the last board of directors.

So there is a chance that DB is working on the idea he can have a Superleague team fit and ready to take over from TWP if talks with them go nowhere, wether he's had the nod I dunno, he may intend to be ready to fill in or just go for promotion via winning the Championship.

To be fair to him he's put a lot of money and time and effort into Leigh, he was stuffed by the salary cap restriction that didn't let him spend for Superleague, then stuffed by the phoney club, so maybe Superleague are giving him a break. They did OK last time in SL (for a newly promoted side) so fingers crossed,,,,

Is DB committing commercial suicide, or is he setting a benchmark for which makes people stand up and take notice ? Lets be honest, he doesn't mess about positive or negative and you need to be a Poker player in todays commercial world.

That is correct, and he was bang out of order. Beaumont was at the time involved in a feud with their chairman Marc Green at the time, and he was even banned from Odsal prior to his naughty comments about Bradford.

He wasn't banned from the ground itself , just the hospitality section I think.

Like him or not DB puts his money where his mouth is. Leigh look to be building a strong team and must be one of the favourites to gain promotion (if P&R comes back?). They look to be in a good position to be able to earn it on the field. Unless it doesn’t work out again and he wobbles like last time but that’s just the pitfalls of being in the championship, living on scraps and It’s multiplied if you don’t have a wealthy owner.

No need to make fancy dan or high risk signings, Leigh. Many of the other Championship clubs are barely going to survive into next season, and that probably goes for some SL clubs as well.

Yes good luck to them. Beaumont has put the money in and at times that was hard to do when IIRC the Championship got salary capped at a lower level than the Superleague salary cap. He fought and won to get rid of that anomaly.

And he still kept putting it in, got Leigh promotion and they came 11th. But went down due to the ridiculous Blake Solly nonsense of the MPG.......

From where most of us are sat, Leigh is a gift horse to Superleague, quality ground, rich owner, and a club fans like to watch.

Yet here we are with Superleague seemingly bending over backwards to put TWP back into Superleague in return for a snake oil deal???

I couldn't dislike the man, he's a big RL fan, keen to bankroll a grand old club. He's had all sorts of nonsense to put up with yet he still continues to invest in the game despite all the stupid barriers put in his way. The lower Championship salary cap he had to suffer, and the the silly MPG nonsense come to mind.

Both things were removed after they caused him problems and cost him money, but he fought on.

Listened to the post match garbage Brian McDermott was spouting tonight. If only Mr. Beaumont had been the guest instead we could have been listening to something highly positive for the game.
