| Pandemic or no pandemic anyone can sell fivers for a pound.
Pitch side sponsorship and mentions on all video content for free pizzas?
Yeah I can see that the RFL will have an easy time negotiating a "financially rewarding arrangement" come the end of the season.

Ah I wonder what Joe Westerman’s training regime was.

| Not even good pizzas either (though probably better than Domino's, whose bases seem to be made out of pure sugar and salt)

Surely that will depend on the product being marketed by the RFL.

| Two things.
Firstly it's a Super League deal, not an RFL one; I wish people would learn this difference before going off on completely the wrong people.
Secondly, I don't think it's a terrible deal. Most of the SL club changing rooms I've seen have pizzas in there post-game, they are a pretty good way of getting calories back into the players. The clubs between them will be spending tens of thousands on the things over the course of a season, money they no longer need to spend. It's no different to the official energy drink supplier type of deals all clubs have, no money actually changes hands in these deals and you chuck them a bit of minor sponsorship of relatively limited value in exchange. But Rugby League fans for some reason don't like to live in the real world of how hard it is to get commercial deals these days and how in particular difficult it is for a regional sport with strong brand values but limited recognition like Rugby League.

What? It’s not a terrible deal? Quite right. It’s a shocking deal. We have bent over for papa johns who get national exposure for the price of a few pizzas.
It’s embarrassing
Papa johns have got the cheapest advertising ever and will no doubt be laughing at our sport.
Can you imagine rugby union signing a deal like this? Of course not, would never happen.

Deal with the world as it is, not some fantasy world where sponsorship is easy to come by. This deal is proabably valued around £75k-£100k in exchange for some minor secondary exposure. The way the f3ckwit fringe have gone off you'd have thought PJ's had been given title sponsorship and all-round stadium branding. They don't have a clue about how Rugby League, or sporting, marketing deals work.

If there isn't anyone able or willing to pay the going rate at the moment then don't sell pitch side advertising at every game (televised) and adverts on all video content. Otherwise you devalue it to be worth "a few free pizzas" when things turn themselves around. This has actually cost the superleague money rather than it earning a profit. Like I said anyone can sell five pound notes for a pound but what's the good in it?
Please can I buy your car for 50p? If you don't sell it me you're a f5ckwit because you don't realise how hard it is to sell cars at the moment.

The product is pitch side and social media advertising and it's now worth some pizzas.

What a stupid post. PJ don’t have a clue how sporting marketing deals work? LMAO!. They have been involved with some of the most popular sports in the world for years. I’m sure some idiot from Warrington on a random forum knows more than their multi million dollar marketing team

| The NRL by the way have just told Vodafone, one of the worlds most recognisable brands to go and do one and banned them from sponsoring the Auckland Warriors.
This is because their local sponsors Telstra who few out of Australia have heard of, have objected to having a rival on the shirts of one of the teams in the competition.
