I get the feeling Bennett is aware of the criticism of him and is trying to get himself fired. Also wouldn't surprise me if that fool Sinfield has already renewed Bennett's deal and just hasn't announced it. Picking the same squad, when you've got players there who have trained all tour and not played and given the performance of those players throughout the series, is just ridiculous.

Calling up Ash Handley then not playing him in favour of Blake Austin on the wing is perhaps one of the oddest decisions I've ever come across in professional sport. Mind blowing really. I think someone should @ Greta Thunberg on Twitter and get her to demand Bennett's resignation.

To a daft bloke like me, I t seems that Austin should have been playing in the halves (probably at the expense of Widdop) and having flown Handley halfway round the world, he should have been playing on the wing.

One thing severely lacking in the GB side is pace and whatever other shortcomings Handley may have, he's pretty quick.

Although PNG should be much easier to get past than the Kiwis or Tonga, we're not helping ourselves.

What has he done to warrant the positions he's currently occupying? He was a very good top level player. But we've seen so many times in professional sport that a quality player doesn't always make a quality coach or administrator. He's done nothing to warrant the positions he holds at Leeds and the RFL/England/GB and looks completely out of his depth in each of them.

What are you basing this on?, you have literally no idea what he does day to day in these roles.

To be fair, he sacked the most successful coach in the SL era, took over himself but appointed an assistant to act as head coach. Appointed a high cost replacement with a big reputation, then sacked him. The appointed the head of youth as an interim replacement, but appointed the interim full time dispute a poor record.

He has also oversaw the worst GB tour of a generation, is the Director of a failing super league brand and has just sacked the GB coach, who is also the England coach, during the period designated to prepare for a World Cup, for which he will probably have to sack the same guy and appoint a replacement, 12 months into a 4 year plan.
