Back to Sheens... "He wasn't given a strong enough roster of players, either at Salford". Was Ian Watson given a strong enough roster to make the Super League Grand Final? Nope, but he did what he could with the players he had.
Sheens is an old man now, I get he might love the game but 100% should be taking a back seat now and perhaps head home to Sydney and look to offer his knowledge and experience at a lower league side. Having said that I wish him well at Widnes... |

Sheens seems outdated to me, very much like Brian Smith - A very knowledgeable coach with plenty of experience that has lost the ability to adapt against well coached teams. It happens in every walk of life, no sign of disrespect - Just the truth.

The comparison is incorrect.
Timothy Sheens has won four Grand Finals, with two different teams. Three Grand Finals with the Canberra Raiders (1989, 1990, 1994) and one Grand Final with the Wests Tigers (2005).
Brian Smith has won no Grand Finals, though he has been runner up in three I believe, with three different teams --- St George-Illawarra Dragons, Parramatta Eels, and Sydney Roosters. |
