After the Warrington fans climbing into the V.I.P Box at Catalans and assaulting Catalan fans , and now attacking a coach with St Helens fans on the RFL need to grow a pair ans act now !

The RFL bottled it at this weeks disciplinary. Surely they have to act now . Points deduction and a big fine , not a suspended fine .

On video evidence Wire fans climbed up into the box, nothing more is seen, nothing more has been said by Wire fans that were there that I’ve spoken to. None said any Catalans fans were assaulted. No Catalans fans have come forward and said they’d been assaulted and neither the French Police nor media nor club have come out and said anyone was assaulted.

This incident last night with the bus is far worse than anything seen last week. Those little bits of shattered glass are safer than when panes would split and fall like a guillotine but they’re still a nightmare and can cause nasty little cuts. Shame on those fans (if it was fans, could just be local Warrington folk who’ve never been to a rugby game in their lives) for this incident!

However strong your feelings are a points deduction is NOT the way to go.

Aside from penalising the majority who are decent folk it would do nothing but encourage more of this type of behaviour.

The local gentry would no doubt start causing trouble at rival grounds to try and get points deducted from rival teams.

As Warrington are the hot topic i’ll use them as an example. There would be nothing stopping the idiots from hopping on the train to Wigan and causing bother at the Hull KR game tonight to try and get Wigan a points deduction.

I agree it has to be dealt with strongly but that is not the way to go.

Punishing Warrington RLFC for something that happened outside the ground and in which they had zero involvement would be ludicrous

This is not a problem confined to Warrington. Although RL does usually have a good reputation its society as a whole that is degenrating, knife crime, muggings, ram raids and scooter muggings all on the up. I see this as just an extension to wholsale problems in the country

Tell it to the rugby league community as a whole. Just because the past week has seen some Wire incidents this website seems to think it’s a Wire problem. And that it’s the whole fanbase.

This decade I’ve witnessed Leeds fans sat in our end at a GF only there to cause trouble and it happened, witnessed Leeds on Leeds fighting with each other inside and outside Old Trafford at another GF, seen videos of Wigan and Leeds fans fighting at a pub around The Quays before a GF, Widnes fans kicking off in the HJ with stewards, Widnes pitch invasion against Cas, Hull KR and Salford invading the pitch and fighting, Salford fans scuffling with their players, Hull fans kicking off outside the away end at the HJ, and yes also seen Wire and Hull kick off at the HJ... this is just off the top of my head that I know of, there’ll be dozens more from a range of clubs I bet.

You’re as likely to see trouble at any ground with any fans as you are Wire fans at the CC final.
