Is he not in his testimonial year, I think he's been on a good crack for many seasons.
It'll probably give him a new lease of life, unless Leeds know more than their letting on, so based on that I'll go for Cas.

I'd heard on the jungle drums that he'd done his knee again, similar to currie when he came last year, its just not right.
I was amazed he was playing at the start of this year to be honest.

Yeah he could pick up where he left off as ballboy, albeit that was at the Willows.

It's not that he's necessarily worth a big contract, just that I don't see him leaving Leeds unless he knows he can get a deal comparable to his current one. Otherwise he may as well have stopped at Leeds and sat out the next few years.

| Quote: NickyKiss "I don’t think he’s worth marquee money but even if he were I doubt we’ll be offering it to anybody. We look like a club cutting costs at the moment and once Williams departs we’ll have no marquee spots taken up and no players worthy of one.
Unless we make some big plays in the player market for 2020 then I’d guess we’re spending well under the cap limit and can probably count ourselves as a club who’ll challenge for a top five spot at best and be relegation candidates at worst (if we get on a bad run).'"
I just wonder whether Wigan will roll the dice on a few players to try and get attendances back up. And he's a freebie - after taking a punt on Hardaker, Watkins could be a steal if you get him right. You've kept O'Loughlin playing this long and he's about 37.

Precisely my point - why would you pay out a shedload of cash when you can better use your cap space as it is. If you were able to spend the full cap, he'd be a first teamer with Lyne as cover.

Quite possible, since Wigan have signed Salford centre Jake Bibby for next season.

The above quote contains incorrect English. Though such failings may be acceptable in Wakefield, lovers of the English language know that the correct word was " they're."

I suppose becoming a member of the Grammar Police is a step up from your R.L. punditry.
Any comment on the C.C. debacle?

Yeah he was rushed back at least a month or so earlier than most ACL returnees and was dropped/rested several games into the season as he was still experiencing pain in his knee. Can’t imagine that’s been solved with the 2 games he had off but Hurrell being injured has meant Watkins has stayed in the team otherwise he’d have lost his place to young Newman....or forced into the 2nd row which he really isn’t suited to.
Any club interested in signing him should be looking at doing a good medical on his knee and that could be a big stumbling block.
Could see Toronto going for him as a big signing even with the fitness risk and has the McDermott connection who was the guy who made him captain at Leeds.

Toronto is already well served in the centres with Richard Leutele and Chase Stanley. Even if there were no question marks surrounding Kallum Watkins' fitness (which there are), Toronto should be spending big money on a quality half, not a centre, especially if they are promoted to Super League.
Personally, I cannot see Kallum Watkins being signed by a top Super League club, let alone an NRL club.

Thanks for the heads up, I was going to ask you about Catalan's debacle against Hull FC, but I'm not sure which would be appropriate when saying that their/they're game was embarrassingly poor that day, and maybe having struggled to beat a heavily depleted Wakefield Trinity side through injuries the week before perhaps it took more out of their/they're game than was noticeable at the time, keep up the good work being a senior member of the grammar police you do a sterling job, honestly.
