A couple of feet is momentum, but the fact the ball bounces a meter in front of it's intended recipient, who was travelling at the same speed as the passer and was 2 Meters behind him when the ball was passed, points to this being a forward pass, pure and simple.
London deserved to lose, because as usual they started both half's 10 minutes late, but Leeds can consider themselves very lucky if this decision either turns their season around or simply keeps them up......'"
You can bring all the cameras and VR as much as you want, that would still not be disallowed as it was passed backwards out off the hands. Get over if.

So he was trying to pass it to a player 2 metres behind him, but it only went 1 meter behind him
Sounds like it went backwards to me, just not as far as he intended.
Some people really need to listen more instead of starting off with the answer they want and making every bit of evidence fit the answer they want.
And what on earth do you mean by "a couple of feet is momentum" etc..?
A couple of feet isn't ok if the player is stood still I.e. from dummy half
Whereas if a winger is running at 20mph down the wing and passes the ball inside to a supporting player 8/9 metres away a couple of metres will be ok.
As it's all relevant to the momentum of the player passing the Ball.
Try throwing a tennis ball put of a car window backwards as you pass say a lamppost at 30mph and see if you can get it to land behind it, you'll be lucky if the ball lands less than 10mtrs in front of the lamppost.

yep i once threw a tin can out of a car window at a well known ref, i threw it at the back if his head, i saw it hit the floor out if my mirror 5 meters in from if him. (That was an example not a true fact not the ref but anyway)

Just putting a Leeds twist on all this.
How many times (out of 10), when the South Stand shout "forward" has the opposition passed the ball forward, because they dont half shout it a lot.
The other measure when deciding refereeing decisions is to imagine how you would feel if you were supporting the opposite side and I'm not sure that you would be so vehement in your opinion had London won the game with the same play.
Unfortunately, with all sports, where there is a referee or umpire, they make mistakes and we all have to love with their call.
Never has there been a replay forced due to a poor call at a crucial time.

| Its just really simple physics, for people that don’t understand take rugby ball in a car drive at say 20MPH throw the ball backwards or ‘flat’ out of the window, now do you think the ball will land behind where you were the moment you threw the ball out of the window?

Hiw nany timed do they shout forward, about 10 times less than they do at Hull kr.
London scored there final try and there was a huge forward pass missed in the build up. So at best its even.
But the Leeds ine was not forward some people are just digging a huge whole.

I'm a Wigan fan and I'll say it's the same % of time as it is at Wigan as they'll be wrong as many times as we are, or saints fans, or warrington fans (but obviously not wakefield fans as you'll be right the thousands of times you shout it when an opposition player does it but never when your own player does).
Because it's irrelevant how many times they shout it, as it's a subjective opinion based call.
However
What people are trying to say is that those who keep pointing at lines on a pitch or where the ball landed if it hit the floor are wrong as its irrelevant where the ball travelled in relation to the lines on a stationary pitch.
As I said on the mat h thread, change the rules, make it so it has to go backwards in relation to the pitch, then sit back and watch as any player who makes a break has to almost stop and stand still to pass it to a team mate.
This should be fun!

Not saying you cannot be an RL fan unless you gave played the game but it helps as some peoples comments show thay have no experience of running passing and catching a ball. Even at a fast jog you gave to pass a ball to where the player is going to be not where he is when you start to pass. If a player is level you have to pass it forward our it will end up in the floor that would most likley be an easy forward pass call, the incident in question he is clearly 2 meters in from of the receiving player, and the ball is passed out of the hands backwards, it was not a forward pass end off.

There is another way to view forward pass, over running, ball drift momentum with an overhead camera for the odd occasion reference is needed ! A few frames & technology could determine once set - up via a computer to video screen.'"
Who decides which passes are referred? If you are talking about every pass the crowd consider contentious being checked by your IT wizardry then it is possibly the most bonkers idea I have ever read on these boards. Which is saying something. If it is in the build up to tries then it is possibly the most bonkers idea I have ever read on these boards.

They shout the exact same as any other set of fans....difference is at Leeds their is 15,000 voices instead of 5,000 so you’ll notice it much more. In terms of percentage of the crowd who shout forward it’s probably the same as any other club.

It depends on the relative speeds of both players.

With most Trinity fans standing behind the sticks, we only shout for the really obvious forward passes.
They're that obvious, you would expect the ref and his two assistants to spot them as well

It left his hands forward and was a blatant forward pass... End of
