I think you are being unfair on him as a player. He wasn't the most talented but he made up for that with his determination and his mental strength. He was a winner and I am certain Leeds wouldn't have been as successful without him.
He always talked a good game about respect for the opposition and referees etc. But he rarely came across as genuine imo. I think he is a very selfish and cut throat person. That's not necessarily a bad thing in sport, but I can imagine a lot of players not getting on with him.

Think he use to be fine but along with some other players of our golden period they’ve had so much smoke blown up their backsides and they’ve bought into the lie created by anti-McDermott Leeds fans that it was all down to the players and haven’t appreciated the huge roles GH, McDermott, McClennen and Smith had in our success.
Interesting that earlier this year Danny McGuire said that Leeds have for a while now been a player led club....well if that was the case when Sinfield was captain he can’t complain about culture & ethos and when players he wants rid of won’t play for him or his choice of coach. He and other senior players apparently more than had their say in the departures of Smith and McClennen.

| Its usually always a bad sign when a club employs a "Director of Rugby", Jamie Peacock was one but didn't last long, maybe Sinfield will still have the job whilst everything is falling down around him.

| Christ, if Sinfield was average and overrated, what does that make the likes of O'Louglin and Wellens?

| I don't get why so many are making out that it's just Sinfield fault, The fault with Leeds is totality collective Board,Coach,Players it's not all Sinfield fault there have not replaced with quality players with the likes of Peacock,Maguire,Burrows,Hall,Ali,Leuluai,Maybe now there do it's just a matter of how long will it take to get that quality back in a leeds shirt.
I'm not one to ravel in the situation leeds find there self in because as a Wakefield fan we have got all the T-shirts on that one.

Yes but it was his job to get a smooth transition from the loss of those players, its not as though they left all at once to make his job harder. Most other clubs like Warrington, Wigan and St Helens have managed transitions and yet have still kept competitive. Leeds have fallen off a cliff and Sinfield needs to take some of the blame which he has accepted, but the real question: is he up to the job, and will every Leeds Coach have to accept some loss of control and the interference that comes with it.

Except they didn't did they.
Burrow and McGuire were great but Sinfield organised play while they ran the ball. It's only later in his career that McGuire picked up in that area.
I'm sure Peacock was an inspiration but he himself says Sinfield was a great leader.

To be fair to Sinfield he only started his job at the latter end of 2018. The damage had already been done by that point. Now his actions since have not inspired confidence but neither am I one to say get rid immediately.
As for Directors of Rugby. Normally I’d agree it’s not a good situation unless their remit is on the academy structures rather than first team, otherwise what’s the point of a first team coach. But in this case the plan is clearly for Sinfield to take over from Hetherington as CEO at some point in the next couple of years so this is part of a transition. So I’m fine with that.
Just not fine with sacking 2 coaches in the space of 20 odd SL games when the main issue isn’t the coach, it’s poor recruitment.
I do have to agree with Printer a bit as well. The documentary last year didn’t show Sinfield in a good light in my opinion. It showed an ego and an expectation that I assumed wasn’t there and certainly wasn’t earlier in his career. And I think his dislike for McDermott after that incident has played a part in some of his decisions now.
Which he needs to get over if he’s going to last at Leeds now.

| Quote: Alan Cargill "I have a few connections to the Leeds club with my work and on a number of occasions i have been told he his ruining the club with his decision but because of who he is Hetherington is reluctant to get rid of him as he's scared of the backlash from the fans and sponsors etc.
Is he in danger of undoing what he achieved as a player by being such a poor coach or adminstrator whichever role it is as my leeds people are still unsure what he's actually supposed to be doing.
Also to Leeds fans is there any chance the fans will turn on him eventually or has he got a job for life at the Rhinos ?
Apparently a couple of big sponsors are not happy and are thinking of withdrawing support while he's still around, is it that bad.'"
Another one of these posts from people who think they are in the know, listened to a load of rumours and pure hearsay and think they have the fingers n the pulse.
Blokes been in the job less than a year, but yeah it's all his fault he must be ruining the club.
If some sponsers want to withdraw support because of a bad run then let them go, dont have them back when things are on the up or charge them double.
The same idiots that what Sinfield out are the same idiots who want Hetherington out.

I agree it is Now, But he came back to Leeds Mid July 2018 so like i said the problems are collective at Leeds you cant just blame Sinfield, You say it's is job for a smooth transition maybe it is, But it certainly hasn't been for the last 3 years where Leeds retention to there standards haven't been good enough over the last 3 years,
Players who have left, retired or been force out the like of Rob Borrows 2017,Danny Maguire 2017,Zak Hardaker 2017,R Hall 2018,B Delaney 2018,Joel Moon 2018,Mitch Garbutt 2018, and then Kev sinfield 2015, Jamie Peacock 2015,K Leuluai 2015 plus a load more,That's a fair bit of quality players there have lost and not replace with better in my opinion.
