In your opinion. Why take a shot at two other clubs over a player you've just bought? It doesn't make sense. Although i accept that perhaps i will see it one way and you will see it another due to the clubs we support.

Yes you are right, a nothing story. Lets brush drink driving under the carpet eh?
You have excelled yourself.

It's pretty obvious by now he has some sort of stake in this site, he is literally unbannable - so must have some part of it.

Maybe to justify signing him after a drugs ban and saying it’s his last chance, then keeping him when he’s convicted for drink driving in his first week at the club?
Easier to blame his previous clubs for his behaviour than the player himself. Wigan tried to take the moral high ground and claimed they were supporting him when his previous clubs hadn’t.
To be honest I don’t know why they decided to do so. I think almost everyone agrees that adults are responsible for their own behaviour. No need to lay the blame for someone drink driving at Leeds’ and Cas’ door when he had left both clubs at the time.
I certainly don’t blame Wigan for the behaviour of the guy who has been arrested for the same thing. But I found it ironic that Wigan tried to do exactly that to Cas and Leeds when it was Hardaker in trouble.

Thankfully not. I’m far too competent for that.
It didn’t need inside information, as it was in a public statement from Wigan.

Hypocritical? Perhaps. But a drinking culture seems endemic to the game still. Unless that is addressed, I suspect we'll continue to see drunk driving, boorish and thuggish behaviour and the usual multitude of other misdeeds make the back pages and detract from the lives of others.

I think you’re probably right.
I’ve said for a while now we need an integrity unit similar to the NRL. There’s just no incentive for clubs to deal with the poor behaviour of players who drag the game down. Suspending them deprives the team of their services. Sacking them only results in them joining a rival team.
We need an integrity unit that can dole out some suspensions. They’ll soon stop behaving badly then, just like in the NRL......Oh, hang on........

I thought the other thread knocking about explained that Wigan mistakenly included the costs of Williams salary that he got in respect of the England central contract in which other clubs also get or "cheat" with?

Gutterfax received a lifetime ban for calling Chris Dalton a w@nk3r in jest........this tool gloated at the time and Chris no longer posts here, nor does the moderator who pulled the trigger......in fact, most decent posters have long since gone. The reality is that the site is now an "also ran" in terms of relevant RL conversations, because after the PC brigade banned some posters, it spiraled into irrelevance with an Australian pretending to be a Frenchman pulling all the traffic the site now has.....without Jean and his ridiculous posturing, there'd be little point in this place at all......the sites owners have reaped their reward for being overly protective......it's a sad indictment when total fascist RL .com is now more "on the pulse" than this site......but that's what you get for stepping into the realms of trying to dictate what people should say rather than allowing free speech.
Jean (or barry or whatever) is the only reason this site has traffic.....that's why they put up with him. The site owners are basically trolling us.....and we are playing along

| It's a personal problem.
Nothing to do with rugby or Wigan. Can't see why people think it's their business.

Thinly veiled? Don't make me laugh! When has Lenagan ever been even remotely veiled when criticising other teams or organisations? You must be referring to the thinly veiled 'Yorkshire Mafia' comment or his thinly veiled 'the TV deal should never have been signed' or the many thinly veiled comments about the competence of the RFL.
Hardaker had been with the club over 6 months by this time, and the 'should have been addressed before now' equally applied to Wigan. Whilst it could (and should) have related to his previous clubs too, you're seeing what you want to here. I guess you're the sort of poster who would only be satisfied should Wigan take all the responsibility for any failings whether they took place during his time there or not.
I'll tell you what; let's all pretend Wigan are responsible for Bailey bottling someone, Ferris sleeping with his best mate's wife or Zak beating up a student, casting homophobic slurs or being found with cocaine in his system in Grand Final week. God forbid any other club should be culpable.

I'm extremely fit late 50's, with a very careful diet. But I like a beer (maybe 20 units a week*). Last year I developed a stomach problem which initially was thought to be alcohol related. I had to stop alcohol for 3 or 4 months; fortunately it was found not to be the cause. But you need something like that to jolt you out of the pretence that alcohol is not a huge problem to yourself & society. I still love a drink but the times I would sneak one in for no reason other than I had 20 minutes to spare are over. Going in pubs when you cannot drink should be used as a deterrent rather than prison. It would be more beneficial.
* A fraction of what I drank as a RL player, which is a terrifying thought.

So, you are an old bitter RL player with an axe to grind, glad you finally confirmed it, I reckon it wasn't a high level club. Chin up sir
