| Jean (bazza), can you explain why certain folk can't vote? Is it designed so that those who can't vote reveal who they really choose in their post? because that defeats the whole object the vote. This is not the first time this as happened with you is it?

Being in the army doesn't get you off quota but he has a British passport due to serving in the army doesn't he? Which means the same thing in a roundabout way.

You are correct. And for the record I discovered that I cannot vote either. Nor can Judder Man and I am sure many other members of this forum.
You need to raise this problem with the site Admin. I will too

No, he wont have a British Passport for serving in the Army, the law doesn't work like that.

I think the thread is a fair indication as to the quality in SL, a very average crop and maybe we should include the imports that are already over here like Pauli Pauli, Dave Fifita and Bill Toupu, all three are better than the names on Jeans list
FWIW I think he means those signed in 2019, all though all those you mentioned are better than all but Austin they are of an older vintage.

Yes, I knew that.
It's just that the list was so utterly uninspiring and not really worthy of a new thread.
As you say Austin is comfortably the best of that bunch but, as far as Aussie imports go, 2019 must be one of the worst years on record.
Some of those are literally stealing a living and preventing certain clubs from playing their "own" players.
I got some stick for suggesting that he looked unfit and uninterested, albeit in a pre season game but, Uate at Huddersfield has been bloody awful.
Maybe he will improve when he's in better shape but, you have to wonder how he "stole" a contract.

Let’s hope not. Not making excuses but a lot of Aussies do struggle with the weather so we tend not to see the best at first. That said I agree this intake is poor.
What surprises me is people’s surprise. I keep saying this but it breaks no ice with the Aussie groupies on here. There is a reason why most NRL stars go to SL, it’s because they have lost their shine.
There are odd exceptions like Austin but let’s not forget that he’s in an already very able team making him look good.
Worse still is Hurrell who to me is a never was, he’s big and occasionally eye catching but he’s a band average player in truth who’s image has been over egged by Leeds fans and a sycophantic media.
The best long term Aussies are and always have been the point to prove second chance brigade and boy Trinity have done well with those

| Jamie Soward has a job commentating on the NSW cup games, and he said the other day that most NSW cup sides would be competitive in the ESL.
He isn't wrong.
I know you have rules that say only players with a certain number of NRL games can get a visa to play, but each year NRL clubs cut 22 and 23 year old players who would be outstanding recruits, and cost half as much as an old guy with 200 NRL games.
In recent years my club has cut Tyler Randall, Pauli Pauli, Luke Yates, Carlos Tuimavae, Jake Mamo, Mitch Garbutt - all guys who managed to get a few games of NRL before being cut - but I can tell you we cut a dozen more who were just as good and never got NRL games to qualify - all would have been young and fit and keen to make a name for themselves.
I've always thought you need to change the rules so you can pick up all the 22 and 23 year olds cut by NRL clubs every year who never quite made firstgrade. Most of them would thrive in your comp, and they have their best years ahead of them.

Hurrel tops the stats in both tackle busts and meters made, yep bang average player, whilst too many errors it will all come together soon/eventually and he will devastate more than one opposition team.

https://www.superleague.co.uk/stats/player-stats Here you go, maybe check things out before spouting bollox.
wake us all up when Wakefield do anything other than make up the numbers in mid table, although that's a big upsurge for them being just above half way for a couple of years.
