| Elstone has been at Everton and if Magic Weekend is in Liverpool it will be at Anfield, so I doubt it's him doing favours for mates. Unlike Newcastle though, there's four Super League teams within 30 miles of Liverpool, and other towns (Widnes, Leigh) whose team won't be playing but people living there do like the game so might go within close proximity as well. It's a good location.

Manchester (Etihad) is closer to the Heartlands than either Newcastle or Liverpool ?
Whatever happened to "spreading the game"and breaking new ground, Liverpool is not exactly new territory but, Anfield is still a decent ground.
Again, Mickey poor not to have these things nailed down just as early as possible and promote them to the point of selling out, rather than have a scramble with ever cheaper offers.

Previous fixtures at magic where our first 3 visits and last 3 visits saw us meet our local rivals.....

It's a few years now since you were in SL and things have changed slightly, do you expect the RFL to revert back to those days where they played their so called local rivals to accommodate your team when your stay in SL is likely to be a short one.

You are correct that things have changed since we were relegated, but you asked a simple question which I answered as accurately as possible by pointing out that 2007-2014 we were pitted against catalan 8 out of 9 times. I could also expand and point out that the Catalans have since faced the 3 worst supported sides at Magic, in Hudds, Wakey and Salford, which would point to the fixture being the first on either day and against the worst supported side in 2019....that would be us.
My assumption is exactly that......it's why I said "I assume", whilst the bit in your post I'be "bolded" is nothing more that a poor attempt at engaging in an off topic debate in the hope of attracting the attention of the moderators.
You are nowt more than a snake in the grass my son
Carter from Wakey has tweeted it is looking like Anfield. St Helens v Wigan could potentially fill it on its own....good decision by the RFL if true and I'd have Leeds v Wire on the other day as well as the HKR/FC game as the middle game on day 1......ad liaise with the train companies FFS......no engineering works please lads

Just noticed that St James's Park has another group of egg chasers playing 2 games there in May? Could that have something to do with it? I can only imagine what the French will make of it up there should they make the finals It does seem an odd choice of venue after the Union lot played in Spain last year (85,000 fans over 2 games)......conspiracy theorists will no doubt have a field day explaining their motivation for selecting St James's Park
Also reading reports that Newcastle may be the venue for the REAL Challenge Cup Semi-Final Double Header in 2019.....so loos like the RFL are keen to keep momentum going in the North East....

| Saints, Wigan and Warrington should all be capable of taking 10,000 fans each to Anfield, and Leeds will travel well. The Hull clubs always have good support, and I realise it's the opposite end of the M62 for them, but most places are a trek from Hull really so their fans are used to it!
Since it's on Widnes' doorstep, how about getting their Championship game V either Toronto or Toulouse as the curtain raiser on the first day? It would be an opportunity to showcase expansion and sell a few thousand extra tickets.

Day 1.
Catalans v London
HKR v Hull FC
St Helens v Wigan
Got to be looking at 40,000......
Day 2.
Salford v Huddersfield
Wakefield v Castleford
Warrington v Leeds
30,000....maybe 35,000......
Not sure about giving Toronto another "home" game where they don't have to fly teams over...they had their free pass last year and messed it up. They should be playing Home and Away alternate weeks.

| Toulouse then. I'd just like to see Widnes have a game if it's in Liverpool as they'd surely sell 5,000 tickets minimum.

Widnes v Toulouse on the same day as Catalan v London.....that would work!
Don't get me wrong, Toronto are all well and good, but they need to do it properly in 2019 with no skewed fixtures.
