There is so much sport on TV now ,it is difficult to persuade people to leave the house to watch a sporting event of any kind.I know people who are constantly talking about the sports that they have seen on TV ,it isn't a lack of interest that stops people from attending sporting fixtures .It is so much easier to switch on the TV or go to the local pub and watch Sky sports for the price of a pint.

Clubs get their income from a lot of sources.

Sponsorship and tv is the main one.

If a club has enough turnover whether it is fans coming through the turnstiles with cash or sponsorship or tv or drunk fans buying shirts and hotdogs who cares,

If they have the money to pay the players and run the club it does not matter

kind of selfish that, take your own club when the plug gets pulled by Ken Davey the Gaints won't be able to exist

The bigger issue here is that RL as a professional sport in the UK is at risk

All you hear is that RL is dying it will cease to exist in a decade if sky pulls the plug we’re doomed etc but the fact is RL has been around for over a century it will always exist clubs will go bust and rise again (as in all sports) there will be money in the game and there will be times when the game struggles the obsession with fans paying is pointless what would you rather see 10,000 fans paying a tenner or 5000 paying 20 its the same outcome just one has a better atmosphere and did anyone expect Toronto not to give out free tickets its a new sport they have to entice fans somehow every club does it to a certain extent

there was a report online that most nearly half of the premier league clubs (not including the usual big 5 or 6) could survive on tv revenue money alone, even if they had no supporters bringing in cash! thats how ludicrous football has become! if only RL could negotiate a fraction of that deal!

If only rugby leagu was on other channels has well has sky that would pay for them selfs we have 5 channels ie bbc itv channel 4 channel 5 and bbc 2 if one or more took some games it would be great
