Northern chavs are an embarrassment to themselves.
They are the rugby league equivalent of Manchester United fans.

Anyway the Catalans players only did it for the last ten minutes, when the lack of an accurate Catalans goal kicker put their deserved six tries to four victory at risk.'"
You play to the rules - leeds do it but weren’t as successful this time out. This is just sour grapes from leeds fans.

It’s really not as I haven’t seen or heard any Leeds fans use it as an excuse for losing.
We’re you at the game?

| It's hardly new - Warrington did the same thing at Wakefield last Sunday to cling on to a 2 point lead; it wasn't on the telly like, so only the 5k brave souls who attended will have seen it, and a few hundred of those will deny all knowledge.

| Just seen the highlights, that was an unbelievable try saving tackle from Yaha at the end.

Indeed it was shame he ruined it by blatantly holding briscoe down then pretending to be injured.

Every team feigns injury to some extent (some more so than others) so it’s hardly a ‘disgusting day for RL’. Leeds players have done it in the past as well. Players do need to stop doing it though and it’s hardly the refs fault, what are they supposed to do?'"
The 2 Cats players who deliberately cut their own heads open so the physio could come on & bandage them up were a disgrace. That soft French git Mickel de la McIlorum being the worst example.

You might say ruined it, but holding down Briscoe probably saved his team from conceding a try and losing the game.
Unsporting? Perhaps, but nice guys finish last.

Exactly. When we were relegated in 2016, if we'd have held the player down, we would never had been relegated.

| Kevin Sinfield used to feign injury in every tight game when Leeds needed a breather.

That was the example I gave my hubby last night when he came home!

The holding down was the 'right' thing to do, pretending to be injured so his side could take a breather and get ready for the final play was just typical of Catalans approach to the last 10 minutes of the game.

All teams are doing it now - it's a cynical exploitation of the referee's approach to player welfare, and is often used to take the energy out of an attack, allow the defence to regroup, and wind down some time.
I had this discussion with the Huddersfield interim coach on Twitter recently; he vehemently denied that RL players feign injury to gain an advantage - I think he was being either dishonest, or totally naïve.

| It used to happen mostly during drop outs. A defender would kick or throw the ball away, another would drop to his knees, a couple more would take an age to get back behind the line. Now it's creeping in to most aspects of the game.

Thats another thing they were doing they were warned 3 times about throwing the ball away, maybe the ref should have been stronger in that aspect.
