Yes. That is because Toulouse has gobbled up two of the French national halves -- William Barthau and Stanislas Robin -- while table topping St. Helens has another in the form of Theodore Fages. The only other French national half candidate, 20 year old Lucas Albert, is learning his trade at Catalans.
French Full back Morgan Escare is at Wigan, while full back rival Hakim Miloudi is at Hull FC.
French Hooker Eloi Pelissier is in the French Elite, while Alrix da Costa is at Catalans, occasionally getting game time as a replacement hooker. |

WRONG. Wakefield born Maxwell Jowitt is the current fullback. 
As others had said, if the development of French RL is of no longer importance to Catalans, they cannot therefore claim to be important for it such they face relegation. |

People on this thread seem to be losing sight of the fact that Samuel Tomkins is leaving Wigan Warriors for Catalans Dragons, thereby giving the France-based club a better chance of winning silverware in 2019. If we are lucky enough to have Toulouse also in Super League in 2019, then we will have an exciting boost for the game in France.

On a serious note, one of the things Tomkins has shown is that he works very hard and has quite a professional attitude. He certainly impressed in that regard at the Warriors. Its a move that probably suits both parties. Am I correct in reading that Wigan offered Tomkins a contract but wanted him to play for less next year in return for a longer deal?

HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
