| The money is about the right fee for him as an individual I think, but what appears to be missing is the most important thing in my opinion; a public apology from Solomona, Clarke & Sale for the disgraceful way they have conducted themselves throughout.
I personally feel that all rugby league clubs should refuse to work with Clarke again. If his players want to continue playing RL then they have to leave him.

| Conceivable that union clubs will give the cnt a wide berth after this too. Maybe Sale will sue him?

| Didnt sale offer £200k transfer fee before he "retired"?

| Quote: cas all the way "200k plus 100k legal fees so 300k total which is decent. It also cost Sale legal fees too which will be around the Same figure. Cost Sale 400k where we get 200k for a player we aren't really missing at all.
It's more a less been confirmed Hardaker has signed up for 150k from Leeds this week too. I know I would rather have Hardaker and Eden over Solomona for sure.'"
It's not £300k. Cas have already spent £100k and are just recovering that cost. They have received between £200-250k which is alright but not a massive fee for a player that broke the try scoring record and has been scoring loads in RU and already played and scored for England RU.

£200-£250k for a player who has already bogged off is a pretty good outcome. How many other RL players have been sold for in excess of 200k?

| He also gave up 2 soft ones before scoring that winner. He's been replaced at Cas by a better all round player who's on course to absolutely smash his record too. That money now will in all likelihood be put towards keeping Hardaker and having some spare.

But then we signed a player for free who is on course to smash that said record. Horses for courses.

| on the surface it looks like Sale have admitted liability, but probably some bit of paperwork will absolve them of any guilt, Cas should now persue Solomona, as he, and they (Sale) are in the wrong, again probably won,t as we are RL and should be greatful for any crumbs that fall off the table.
The RL should also seek to maximize as much publicity as possible, so as to make the RU think twice before doing this again, l won,t hold my breath.

Yeah that's fair.
If we can rip NZW off for £700k for Tomkins Solomona should be worth about £500k!

Cas took action against Sale, Solomona and Clarke. They were all respondants in the case brought by Castleford. The settlement is to cease legal action against all three.
The RFL's opportunity is to ban Andy Clarke from representing RL players.

I really feel that it is the responsibility of SL clubs to refuse to work with Clarke not the governing body to ban him. How can you possibly have any trust or good faith whilst in negotiations with him?

Read the lengthy statement on the Cas site - Sale offered 50k and we told them to shove it up their , essentially.

| Castlefords decision to avoid going to court and securing a legal precedent will come back and bite another club in the backside. Sale obviously expected to pay a fee for him in the long run and have secured an international class winger for a fraction of what a RU developed player would cost. I only hope that the club which is bitten is Castleford again as they were the ones who had the chance to stop it happening once and for all but buckled when someone flashed the cash in front of them
