| Distance to target sounds like it's a drone strike rather than a rugby game. Ridiculous idea, and has Phil Clarke written all over it. He loves to force out-of-context business or military terms into rugby league to make it sound more complicated than it needs to be like using 'KPIs' to refer to tackle completion rates and stuff. Get rid!

| Surely no-one disputes that the BBC coverage, whilst not perfect, is way better than Sky?
"Jiffy" should stick to union. He may have been a terrific player, but he never has anything perceptive to say, and his peevish tone reminds me a irritated school-master with a class of bored teenagers:
"Just watch..."

| The issue with Davies is that he falls into the Stevo trap of automatically looking to criticise a player for not doing something rather than praising one for something they do well.
Tries will inevitably be down to "poor defence" or a player being "in no-man's land", rather than the attacking side executing their skills. It constantly runs the game down and makes even the best ones seem riddled with defensive errors.
His obsession with half-backs is also right up there with Stevo's fixation on hookers and runs from dummy half.
You can hear the exasperation now with the rest of the ex-pros in the Sky comms team every time Stevo opens his mouth and says something stupid or irrelevant. In the last few weeks Carney and McDermott in particular have made very pointed comments after he's said something which imply (without being explicit) that they're sick of listening to him talking nonsense. McDermott's "left back, in the changing rooms" comment in particular last night seemed to create a very uneasy atmosphere for a few seconds.
The only thing that lets the BBC coverage down IMO is Robbie Hunter Paul yapping around like an over-excited Jack Russell before and during games without offering even the slightest glimmer of insight into what's going on. He's just an endless flow of cliches.

| Given that most try scorers attempt to touch down as near as possible to the posts, the target is surely "under the black dot", not just anywhere on the tryline.

| It's a strange one, the Sky coverage.
On one hand, there is a willingness to add new things in an effort to enhance the coverage for the viewer. This is a bit of a crap one, but some stuff I've liked. Wells is excellent, the ref cam I like, for instance.
Then there's the unwillingness to break from the past. Eddie & Stevo for example, the awful dance music when a try is scored, the dated intro music.
Then you have the Stuart Cummings situation, which covers both. It's quite an innovative move to get a former referee in the studio to give his interpretation on the referring of the game, but he's only actually required because Eddie, Stevo & Clarkey have become so detached from the laws of the game that they need someone there to quash the bickering.
Neville Smith has been the Exec Producer since it started on Sky I think. The whole format needs a refresh, probably starting with a new EP. Does any other sports coverage have up to 6 voices barking at you at once?

| Think it's just Steveo that ruins it for mine. He seems to drag everyone else in silly conversations. Think Eddie is just loyal to him and will just go along with it. I have noticed the others have took a step back and talk more sense than not these days. Love Ref Cam, wish they would bring in being to hear the video ref. The best thing Sky have brought in is the Super League build up where they go through the weeks games. As for the music.. They need something a bit more dated for the try's, would love to hear the good old Two Tribes music again to start things up.

| The message is even more pointless tonight, it's obliterated by a link to tennis on the red button.

| Change it to Metres Gained (from where the set started) that would be useful.
