| I'm assuming it's at 8pm on the friday? Have they said it'll be BBC 1 or 2?
If so who can complain at a prime time TV slot on a Friday night on the national broadcaster.
I suspect we may get pushed on to BBC 3 at the time but even that's not to be sniffed at.

Both CC semi finals have always been shown free to air as long as i can remember and always on either Saturday or Sunday which is probably why people are(and quite rightly imo) complaining.

| Just from a Rovers fans point of view. I will be going regardless, but it's a shame it will be a Friday. I've been waiting years to get to a semi final and it would be nice if a whole day could be made of it.
Now it will be a rush home from work to get there in time, which will be the same for most fans I assume.

| Looking forward to the first semi-final of the BBC's flagship rugby league competition being on the red button, while BBC1 shows Vicar of Dibley repeats and BBC2 has Great Train Journeys with Michael Portillo.
RFL by plenty.

| Looks like the RFL are fed up with Leeds winning so much over the last decade. Last season Warrington made the long journey of 7 miles to play Leeds in the semi at St Helens, this season Saints make the epic journey of 7 miles to Warrington for the semi against Leeds. Could the RFL be a bit more obvious that they don't want the Rhinos to overload their trophy cabinet. It really is a sad day for Rugby League when the RFL expect supporters to travel over the busiest motorway at the worst time just to fit a TV schedule. They really don't give a flying f**k about the people that really matter. Player welfare this, player welfare that, oh f**k you, you're only supporters that keep the game going. Tw**s.

a) Saints had to play 5 semis in a row played in Huddersfield. So cry me a river over the rfl being biased
b) www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33165878 - yup RL fans have it so tough ...

Yes and they also played 9 or 10 Grand Finals in a row at Old Trafford, didn't hear you complaining about that Mr Selective memory. So let's get it right, you want to play all the Grand Finals over your side, and at least half of the challenge cup semis, which makes a total of 75% in your favour. Do you want Keiron Cunningham to referee them all as well ?

Blimey, I'm guessing your parents aren't willing to drive you threre/let you on the supporters bus on your own?
Have you not thought about venue availability?

Plenty of venue availability, just a lack of brain or ethical availability at the RFL. I would be worried if my old man offered to drive at 80 years old having never held a driving licence. I'll take the half day off work to cut out all the aggro, another large chunk of dedication that the RFL are blissfully unaware of, or probably just take for granted as usual. Still, as long as they're all getting fatter off the TV revenue who am I to argue. Wan***s.

| Perhaps if there were some 21st century stadia in Yorkshire then the RFL might be able to host some more games there.

Take a deep breath. How many high quality, rugby league owned stadiums are there in Yorkshire that would be a neutral venue? And what does Leeds having a 90 minute journey to Warrington have to do with player welfare? Are our motorways that dangerous?

| Leeds will probably overnight in Lancs on the Thursday or at least spend Friday in a hotel over there so player welfare is a nothing argument.
It is somewhat inconvenient for Leeds fans although the HJ is easily accessible from the 62. And this will only be the second of Leeds' last seven semis vs non-Yorks opposition not in Yorks so they can't really complain about one or two further away.
But most important of all, outraged people should remember that the tv companies are the game's biggest sponsors and biggest source of revenue. Like it or not, they fund the game more than anyone. And Rugby League's founding principle involves money.
