| I think the word to describe my reaction to this is "guffaw".
That aside, I don't really see where he would fit in a RU team. A strange one, but hopefully good for his pension.
Still, it was the headline sports bulletin on the News At One. Oh yes, I forgot, it involves RU.

| I am a bit surprised he isn't having one last year at Rhino's in 2016. He obviously would prefer that but I bet he has been told he would get less game time next year if he stayed. I bet Leeds have one hell of a signing lined up to replace him. Wasn't GH on a shopping trip down under recently ?

He is retiring a 100% legend.
Stop spouting nonsense.

Totally agree, he is one of those players that is special to our sport and its a shame he is gonna finish off his career in union. He could have retired now and had a massive send off from everyone in the RL community but now, when he retires in a couple of years at a tier 2 union side, it probably wont get too big a mention...

| He'll be on the bench for the World Cup opener later in the year....they need an injection of 'pace'.

| Certainly not the one of the best players to play in SL, but certainly the most important and massive part in why Leeds have been so successful. Huge loss to Leeds and the game and others have stated I hope he returns to the game as he is the type of person we want involved in the game.

| You'd think the Yawnion folks would be slightly embarrassed that a rugby league player at the end of his career could walk into the first team of any of their clubs and do extremely well.

Is he not allowed a send off at the end of this year then? You'd better tell the Rhinos fans & club, before they start organising things.

Even the Leeds fans don't believe him to be THE best but to say he isn't amongst the best of the last 20 years is nonsense, and again shows just how underated he is by other clubs fans, same in an England shirt where he was often the scapegoat for our many shortcomings.

Sinfield strengths are more based around those "intangibles" that people don't appreciate, like game management and decision making. As a Saints fan, we suffered more than anyone at the hands of these as he guided Leeds past all those GFs against us.

It's because to way too many League fans a turn of pace and a bit of fancy footwork is worth far more than having a great brain, tactical nous and the ability to utterly control a game. When he won the Golden Boot this place was awash with people saying that the likes of Ben Barba were better Rugby League players. I enjoy flair like everyone else, but while the likes of Barba might win you points and even the odd game, the Sinfield's of this world win you championships.
Whatever the performances a re like, next season will be weird at Leeds without our two figureheads.

| Apart the obvious lack of pace I've always found some of the comments towards Kevin Sinfield a little patronising. His lack of pace is obvious, however is all round skill set for the most part has been superb. Excellent kicker, superb hands, and an intelligent runner. All this coupled with his superb ability to read the game have made him one of the best players of his era IMO.

Absolutely. Speed of thought should never be underestimated either.
