Quite clever of our "average" NRL import to read the game well enough to make the interceptions I thought.

No they didn,t Rovers Pack missed 21 tackles againts Saints Pack 11 tackles.
The latter comment about Rovers backs is correct.

| Saints lost due to very very average decisions and ball control. Rovers won because their team did not fold under the pressure of territory and possession that they lacked.
It was a great performance by Hull KR.
As for Saints, Burns was busy looking for a fight, Wilkin has up and down weeks, last week he was great, unfortunately that meant that this week he was poor. Swift was terrible, rolling back the months to 9 months ago, showing why Brown rested him as his decision making is at times total pants. When he's got his head on he is great, when he shoots out the line, fluffs high catches and decides to take people on the outside, when he has 3 in support (well lets just say he is not very good). Dawson showed little. Not sure whether we ever went to Makinsons side at all in attack?
The first half we were good, but gifted Hull KR points. Second half we just lost it and Hull KR took the points deservedly.

Keep sucking on those lemons. We had two front rowers available for this game. If you haven't seen Weyman's been forced to retire, Bailey has been released due to an illness, Burke has an ankle injury and Jordan Cox has suffered some form of seizure at a Rovers event and Allgood was finishing his two match suspension, Throw in Cockayne and Salter injuries and Rovers are missing a hell of alot of grunt. For a change why don't you give Rovers a bit of credit. We could have had another four tries whilst Saints scored off two forward passes, A ricochet that landed into Wilkins hands and a failed catch of the ball.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Quote: Saint #1 "
On the topic of Child, obviously there was the two obvious forward passes late in the game which were awful decisions, but there was also him absolutely bottling a sending off. Some tackles there is doubt about whether there should have been a card or not, but over the last few years, the offence most likely to be red-carded is seemingly a shoulder charge to the head, particularly when late. I don't see what changed tonight.'"
In fairness to the video refs, the contact seemed to be made with Burns shoulder. Having seen it from various angles, I couldn't be sure there was any contact with the head. The subsequent swelling on Burns face would suggest something impacted his head, but nothing showed that on the replays. The Saints will have to take it on the chin, and remember that Sia Soliola spent half of his game time last season committing challenges like that on opposition players. To start squealing now would be a tad hypocritical.

| I thought Rovers tackling especially of the Saints forwards was top notch, some great classic tackles and gang tackling that downed the big guys fairly comprehensively, this in turn put pressure on Saints elsewhere. Welham had a very strong game I thought.

To be fair Phil Clarke did comment on HKR's injury crisis during the game but undoubtedly the injuries this season are less significant because of the fact HKR have strength in numbers within the squad in 2015. Burke, Allgood , Salter, Cockayne have previously all been in the seventeen in the early games so when fit should create a headache for Chester.

| Saints were bad. Worst performance of the year easily. Still, they came within a couple of points of another win at one of the toughest places to go in the league. Missing their first choice full back and scrum half and losing the best hooker in the competition so again needed to mess around with the pivots. The forwards did their job; HKR barely got into Saints' half all first half except when Saints gifted them points. Walmsley another 180 odd metres etc. They dominated territory and walked down field with ease all day. The halves couldn't create anything for whatever reason. Saints will point to giving HKR 16 points through bad play and the reality that Green should have been sent off. Two of Saints' tries were forward passes though so swings and roundabouts. Credit to HKR. They make it hard for us every time we go there and against all the odds took the points. Well done to them. Saints live to fight another day and will look to rebound at Wigan.

| Child was terrible but then he always is, you can guarantee he is going to get at least one big decision wrong, get a few more decisions wrong and generally be inconsistent.
Hull KR had one of those days where things go your way, it happens. On another day Saints could have been out of sight in the first half, but they weren't and KR took their opportunity and got them points.

They have funny shoulders in Hull, obviously.
The Sky replay clearly showed the shoulder making direct contact with the head. The referee is within his rights to ask for video ref assistance on the matter of foul play. That Child didn't ask for it was irresponsible as he gave Green and HKR generally the green light to do whatever they liked and whether you like Saints or not, the players are human beings with families and with the right to be protected from head injury so far as is humanly possible.

What because our lot are commentating on the game on a forum? Hard not to come across as bad losers on a platform like this when the detail is discussed.

| It's more a case of some of your fans being unable to give the opposition any credit following a defeat. However, we all have fans like that.
