| I think that the fact that Zachary Hardaker is helping police with their enquiries indicates that he is a man who likes to help others, and has a good sense of social responsibility. This something to be admired in Zachary Hardaker.
I think that this is much more important than Zachary occasionally thinking that another man is a cigarette.

| I expect Gary Hetherington will be e-mailing all his fellow super league chief execs ala Todd Carney?
Stones and glass houses and all that.

| I guess Samuel Tomkins' position as England full back has just got more secure.

| Hope he doesn't pour his RL career down the drain. I don't know him personally but whatever he might be off the field, he's a cracking player on it.
Might need to get away from Leeds though.

Like I said, I don't know him personally but the naughty boy syndrome which he may or may not suffer from is very often exacerbated by like minded pals. Removing him from the influence might help, especially if he comes to a nice place like Wigan.

and this is what i expected. most teams will demand leeds release him, so they can sign him up....
i very much doubt that any alleged incidents were caused due to being in leeds or around leeds players...

Is this something you checked before typing? Thought not!
You'll find that the story was posted in Main News, here in the VT (both for general discussion), and on the Leeds and Warrington forums (the two sides who were playing and would be interested in Hardakers omission from the Leeds team).
Not quite EVERY forum!

or your club, who suspended both players for 'disciplinary' reasons.'"
AFAIK Hardaker hasn't been suspended by the club, he was "not selected" for the Wire game for disciplinary reasons.
Quote: morleys_deckchair "Might need to get away from Leeds though '"
I don't think its Leeds he needs to get away from but maybe he needs to stop hanging around with the younger lads like Minchella and spend more time with the more sensible, far more professional people at Leeds like Sinfield, Peacock, Burrow, Hall etc.
My view of Hardaker is that obviously he's a top player and I don't actually think he's an out and out @rsehole, I just think he's a daft lad who's risen incredibly quickly from part time at Fev, to winning a Grand Final with Leeds, to becoming Leeds number 1, to the England squad in just a couple of years and who gets carried away and needs to learn some control.
Im hopeful that he'll either grow out of this immaturity or will learn from the numerous players at Leeds who manage to be professional.
Regardless of what happened in this incident (and we don't know what happened or how involved he was), he shouldn't have been out drinking until 2am in-season. Even if he's not done anything else he needs to be disciplined for that.

Not really. A suspension by the club would be a more serious disciplinary measure where Hardaker would be at home for the duration of the suspension. In the same way as if you or I are suspended at work we aren't allowed in to continue working.
Not being selected for a game is like you or I having an important piece of work or responsibility taken off us. But isn't the same as being suspended.

But if as has being said he is innocent (and not even charged of anything) why feel the need to omit his selection when otherwise fit to play? It's not like a few questions from the old bill is going to disrupt matters, certainly not for Leeds or indeed for Hardaker.
Given that he very much plays a pivotal role in the Leeds side one would feel unless the club knew something the general public doesn't, he would have being selected to play as normal?
You could certainly understand tongues wagging/speculating because of the non-selection.

Absolutely. I'm not proclaiming Hardaker's guilt or innocence in the matter, though he could have taken no part in the assault and still be disciplined by Leeds with regard to going out drinking until late "on a school night".
But as I said I have no idea what Hardaker's role in the whole thing is, just saying being suspended by the club is a harsher disciplinary measure than merely being "not selected". That probably happens within each club each season but for matters that aren't in the papers and so are announced as "illness" etc.
I have a feeling the club had discussed this with Hardaker earlier in the week, which is why Golding was named in the 19-man squad.

| Actually, I don't even know what the allegations against Zak are, but I do notice the same forum members , who pathetically tried to defend his previous (and obvious) homophobic comments, are again being very vocal in his defence. Without knowing the accusation, if those posters again are, again getting so upset; I think he did it!
