Correct. New talent pool players must have never played league be over the age of 21 and fit a few more things too.
They count for 0 in the first full cap year they are registered (now until next feb) and then 50% the subsequent year! and then 100% in the third year and beyond. - if anyone is lined up, they be better keeping them deregistered until next year, to get a full year off the cap.

| He thinks he can buy his way out of everything - how about he try and actually restructure the club properly, starting with the youth development. Marwan is clearly an impatient guy and instead of putting money into a few home grown kids, he's out searching for guys to switch codes??

Please get your facts right. He has invested thousands already in Salford Youth and has the best `head` at that level in Alan Hunte who he meets to discuss improvements on a regular basis. The club has invested in a spectacular new gym and has the uses now of AW pitches at the Stadium. The Chairman has been fantastic for the club and the sport in general.

Is the gym first team only? Do the 19s have access as well? What about the 16s? It's great having pitches and gyms for the first team, but being able to provide them for all at the club, and make it as seemless as possible as the players move through the age groups is what's best ... And most expensive.
Can you honestly say he's invested as much as he's offered for "marquees"? Do you think he spends more than anyone else on the subject? It is after all, completely uncapped, and has no restriction for any team to spend big. I've kept an eye out for the Salford 19s results, and whilst I appreciate they've stepped back into the top division, they're also not blowing the world away.
I don't doubt koukash has spent on the youth team... But I don't think he's spent as much as he could have (from what I've seen)

| Well Noble was happy to take the job after Vievers got short shrift. So hard to feel any sympathy. He will have a nice pay day and the next coach can have fun for a few weeks.

Not really, he only had months left on his contract. Another clever Koukash move, offered Noble an 18 month contract only.
I wish people would give it a rest regarding Koukash and Salford's youth set up. The bloke has been in charge just over 12 months, what more could he have done? First priority should and has been sorting the first team out. Even during this time he has improved our academy set up no end, the facilities have improved, the youth teams are kitted out for the first time in years, they train with the first team each week and this is just the very start.
He's bringing in the highly rated Shane Flanagan for the remainder of the season to act on a consultancy basis with his task to implement youth strategies for the Red Devils.
It seems like youth set up is an easy stick to beat Koukash with, when it isn't and just highlights your ignorance and lack of knowledge of anything Salford Red Devils.

| For me, Harris isn't head coach material as his time at Crusaders and as Welsh coach would seem to show. I'm not that suprised to see Nobby go, however. I feel that his two years away from coaching has shown, although with all his contacts he could do a good job as Director of Rugby.

You won't find many disagreeing, seems odd to replace Noble with a coach with limited experience. I suppose he's an unknown quantity.
Regarding Noble though, our rugby has been poor this season. Fortunately Sean Long has come back and v Cas and Hull our attacking pay improved no end. He was the right choice at the time due to his contacts and his contract wouldn't have been renewed at the end of the year but its still ruthless. Sport can be at times though.

I don't get what your point is. I doubt that any team invests more money into its youth team than the first team.
People are always making the point that it'll take time for us to get a good enough squad in place to challenge for honours in Super League. Why would the youth team suddenly dominate every other team after about 12 months of increased investment?

| Wether you believe me or not, I can confirm that this decision was infact made by the players, Koukash really didn't have much of a choice after a large number of the squad were in his office complaining about Noble's training methods and match tactics.

Well if as "professionals" that is how they see the boss then as far as I am concerned they will react the same to ANY boss.
It's the PLAYERS who are not up to/capable of doing the job and the sooner directors/owners realise this the better. It's about time players were sacked for not doing the job they are paid to do and that is evident in a lot of teams. Employment laws are available, so if applied correctly, can mean there is no pay out due "under contract".
They say RugbyLeague is a business , well it's about time business practices were utilised.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

| Noble was a very poor choice, he inherited a dominant side and Bradford and did a runner as soon as that side went into decline. He left no youth legacy and he left the club in a worst state than when he took over. At Wigan his limitations were exposed big time.
He would have been better trying to find another Trent Robinson than yesterday's man.
The players would have been Noble's choice so if they haven't performed you have to question Noble's ability to spot the talent and the ability to get the best out of the players.

I couldn't disagree more; employees will often and readily stick the knife in to their line manager - it's a weak and short-sighted leader who removes said line manager as a result.
Often, the employees in question are actually reacting to change, or kicking back against the fact that they're now required to do their job more efficiently or effectively or with more rigour; what Koukash has actually done here is create a culture of 'player power,' where influential players can remove the Head Coach if they don't like his style.
I wouldn't be Iestyn Harris right now for a gold pig; which, before Salford fans react, I'm sure Dr MarwanK could have several of if he so desired.
