| Lol, I can't believe people are using a pre-WC experimental warm up match to get a dig in about Super League ... this forum never fails to amaze...

Surely strong competition between teams is a good thing for a WC?!

| I would say the truth lies somewhere between the USA being better than people have given them credit for and France, without the direction of experienced players like I Hendo and Scott D, which the players have at club level, are not as good as people on MB's give them credit for.

| If America have success it's great for the game, regardless of how many Aussies are in the team. It will never happen but the best thing that could happen is that USA win the World Cup, then it might finally get a bit of publicity over there. Besides, 8 in a squad of 23 is better than most countries in this World Cup.
Only on RLFans could a win for an emerging nation (and not just any emerging nation, the worlds economy) be seen as a bad thing.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| It depends how you see it
Is it improvement by the USA ( primarily the US based players, did they all play? ) ?
Or is it France not improving how we all hoped they would after the introduction of the Catalans to SL?
If it is the latter then it is surely not good news for International RL development
But dont let that get in the way of making your mind up that some posters are being overly critical before you engage your brains as to what is being stated

| People who didn't watch it,pass their 'expert' comment - standard for this site.
Why not applaud America, rather than be critical of France - unless you have a preconceived agenda ofcourse.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| If this result had occured in the other sport it would be heralded as a great result for the progress of the USA.

I'm not sure you can decide Catalans have failed based on one international friendly.

true, it does highlight the catalans club biggerst problem though, that none of the key positions are taken up by french players when they play a full strength side.
having backup players at club level being starters at international level is going to make it difficult for them to progress

Escare at full back.
Bosc in the halves
Pelissier at 9 (interchanging I know)
Was just a bad game, it happens.

| The master plan of bringing a French team into S.L to improve the national game is really progressing.
Give it another thirty years & they may be able to compete on the International stage.
Have patience corridor boys.

I did watch it. I'd never claim to be an expert. I'm critical of France because the standard was well below what France are capable of, and I hope that this brings home to them that there are no pushovers in the WC. I'd imagine some people would have agendas against the USA because this team may be considered to be spitting in the face of the US competitions and the internationals they've had over the past few years with Canada/Jamaica. Obviously it's working for them though, and I'm happy that they seem to be gelling well in defence, hopefully this means that they won't be the whipping boys of their group like I feared when I saw the teams announced.

At least Remi Casty is off to ply his trade in the NRL.
The road to international recovery has to start somewhere.

I really doubt any of the people complaining on this thread know anything about that.
