this is most stupid saying ever! (i know you haven't invented it) imagine playing football with a fly away ball or cricket with a tennis ball. its obviously going to effect performance if a ball is poor and i think the pros know more than us.

The powers that be need to listen to the players.They cant all be wrong.If we want a quality product for the fans and TV audiences then at least give the players the ball they want rather than bow to short term commercial interest.

Rhino have agreed to meet with players to help improve their footballs.

In the mean time it is a relief that we will be using Steeden for the World Cup.

Hopefully months of playing with a slippery ball will make our players awesome with a Steeden in the World Cup.

I can't understand the criticism either. He runs very hard and has a great offload. He offloaded numerous times against Leeds, in fact I thought he was wigans best player that night! Ok he's still getting used to defending in league, but this will be a completely new concept as he will never have had to do any proper defence in union.

Should be used for the Grand Final, another sloppy deal from the RFL they should tell Rhino "Not fit for Purpose"

Yeah, it's a relief to be going back to the ball that the NRL players have been using for the last 12 months for a major tournament. That won't simply add to the advantages they already have or anything.

It's not just the way this ball feels in wet conditions, it's also markedly different in the way it moves through the air either when passed or off the boot. Using a completely different - and inferior - ball in a World Cup year (and probably for very little actual commercial gain) is a suicidal decision.

It's a standard Rugby ball. Play the game man.

Can anyone explain why everything that allegedly goes wrong or is a problem with Rugby League NEVER EVER is the fault of the players?

1 or 2 players moaning about it i would agree with you but when the majority of players are moaning and saying the ball is not fit for purpose then i will believe them.

Are you saying the majority of players have de skilled themselves this season by the inability to catch or hold onto the ball during impact.
We,ve had one of the driest summers for years and the balll behaves like a ball of soap with the amount of lost ball probably being the highest since the history of the game.
The RFL never got the players to test the ball pre season and follow up with feedback, they will probably be asking the players to try using oil injected boots next.

Rhino ball looks slightly longer and more narrow. The biggest complaint I've heard from players is the grip and how light it is.

Rhino said union manage fine. But that is a different game. You design a ball for union do you can kick a
Goal from the half way line (hence why it is so light)

League we pass, kick catch etc and the ball us not fit for purpose. Why we changed it in World Cup year god knows!

has anybody on here actually had hold of an official match rhino ball? and i cant imagine Rhino being to happy about one of there products be slated.
