| Quote: Bull Mania "Great game. If I was a Hull fan I would be very excited about the partnership of Crooks and Lineham. Crooks doesn't look like he's running that fast but no one seems to get near him. What's happened to Tom Briscoe though, I actually forgot he was playing. Would rather have Lineham in the England squad.'" Briscoe hasnt being the best winger at Hull for a while now. He is still an outstanding talent and will go well at Leeds.

We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Hull have great prospects in the back line with Shoal, Lineham, Crooks, Arundle and Crookes all young and very able to perform at this level. Arundle has had a mixed start at Hull but if they stick with him they'll get a very good centre partnership.
Looking at Holdsworth and Miller partnership it could become one of the best. I know Horne is having a good season but Miller has to come in and put his name on that team sheet.
I think Hull could do some damage in the playoffs this year but Wigan are a class above with Warrington not so far behind. Yes they've not fired this year up to now but let's be honest, Leeds haven't for the past couple of years yet still won the title!
Peter Gentle needs to start working on the attack IMO. I know tries were bombed out there both this week and last but that's just it, in the big finals these points will matter and teams like Wigan and Warrington won't be so forgiving.
As for international honours, Sinfield should be nowhere near. I know what he offers with his leadership...etc. I just want to see players with more skills than he has in his position. The Aussies and Kiwis not to mention the PNG side are all big units and our pack should have at least 3 props on the pitch to start the game. That leaves no room for a Sinfield type loose.
While we're on about Hull, Danny Houghton is really ripping it up again. He is mainly known for his defence but his attack and kicking game isn't too shabby either. I am a big fan of Josh Hodgson, Micky Mac and McShane but if Roby can hit some form now back from injury and Houghton can continue his impressive couple of seasons then I can't see two better options to face the World Cup later this year.
Hard for a Rovers fan to admit but if Hull can keep a hold of these young lads and replace the aging players with some big tough forwards then I think they'll be up there challenging for years to come.
Hope not, but every dog has it's day they say!!!

| Quote: Charlie Sheen "It's amazing to think Leeds could've still won that game had Vickery showed more backbone just before HT. Hull should've won by a lot more and Leeds really didn't have a chance once Watkins and McGuire went off (their seasons look over as well), and with Peacock, Ablett, Ward and BJB out for a good few weeks its going to be very difficult for Leeds to remain in top 4 contention. I just hope for England's sake Watkins's injury isn't a season ender.
To be fair Sinfield had a pretty decent game I thought, and was much improved on recent weeks.'"
Wow. That has to be the most contradictory post I have ever read! Leeds couldv'e still won and Hull should have won by more? Eh?

| Thought Hull were fairly good and was very impressed by their intensity. They blew some chances but these were only the kind of errors that are very easy to rectify next time out. Leeds showed pride, no more, but that's far better than nothing; many teams would have lost by 40 last night.
As for Sinfield, I have to agree that on current form he should be nowhere near an England spot. But only a fool would predict he won't be playing much better come the season's finale.

| In recent weeks Hull have started to get men back off the injury list and now we're starting to see them show some class and hit form. Sure, they lacked cutting edge and ruthlessness here and there, but that will come...its not long since they were injury ravaged.
Having said that, if they can stay healthy, I think they're a good bet, at 9/1, for the cup.

I see what he's saying.
We should have won by more really as we bombed a couple of chances.
However given that we bombed those chances, it is conceivable that with 15mins to go we could have conceded 2 tries and suddenly been level. Lets be honest we've seen it before!

And this right here is what is wrong with our sport! Leeds should now be sweating about their place in the play offs (top 4) after losing 3 SL games in a row. They may still make top 4 but it would be a tough thing from now till the end of the season.
But as is they may think 'Our League Leaders Shield bid is over so we will ease up a bit'.

| If Leeds "ease up a bit" there's a serious danger they won't make the 8.
They're without a number of key players, and still have to go to Wigan, Warrington and Huddersfield in the league (three guaranteed losses on current form).
Right or wrong, they've got players who will have to back up on the Monday following the Exiles game against Widnes due to the lack of numbers in their squad, so that's not a given.
At the moment they look completely shorn of confidence, direction or motivation. There's a real risk their season could fall apart from here.

They are 5 clear of 9th with a game in hand.
The most points that have been needed to get into the play offs would have been 28 last year if Bradford hadnt have had their points taken away. (they would have gone to 29 and wakey would have missed out on 26 and Hudds take 8th with 28.
That means that from the last 12 games that leeds have they would have to win 4 and draw 1 to make the play offs. 27 will probably make the play offs this season so thats just 1 win every 3 games. Leeds could play their u19's and win that many games.
