| If he fails in union he will have to take up boxing. He's certainly burned his bridges as regards playing Rugby League at a decent level ever again.

| Top player who I wanted to see back in the game. However he just played Parramatta and only cares about the coin so he can go and play and Union. The NRL doesnt need Izzy, there are plenty of stars!!

| Quality athlete, big name, youngest player to ever wear the green and gold of the kangaroos, or the maroon of Queensland.
Yeah, the game has really dodged a bullet.

| The problem with Israel Folau is that he is being manipulated by a money hungry manager-agent, who has the the megalomaniacal biblical name of Isaac Moses. (I bet that the only names under consideration for his children have been or will be Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Mary and Jesus). Folau seems like a naive young kid, though he talked to Ricky Stuart about sacking his manager, and Stuart reportedly told him not to at this stage, because it would complicate his situation too much.

| Thats not the problem with him at all. The problem with him is he knows he has a short career to maximise his earnings, and like any of us would he is taking the steps he needs to to do so. That goes totally against those in charge of RL, and somehow the fans that watch it, who have, for reasons yet to be determined, taken a standpoint that says players should be willing to sacrifice their earnings to play the game, that players should willingly earn less than they otherwise would, for the chance to entertain us, and not only that, they must do it with a smile on their face lest they be cast out of the game and referred to as greedy for the rest of their lives.
Israel Folau had the option of taking whichever pathway appealed most to him, he is in demand and a quality athlete like him is rare, and as such valuable. RL does as much as it can to make itself as unattractive as possible to players like him, then blames them when they want no part of it. Israel Folau isnt the problem, Rugby League is the problem.

The latest reports suggest that Israel Folau may play rugby union for 1 year only, perhaps with an eye to returning to rugby league in 2014 when the salary cap issues have been resolved and many clubs will have more space for him under their salary caps.

However Parramatta may have soured on him, which could leave an opening not only for othr NRL clubs, but also perhaps for a Super League club with salary cap space.

Are you familiar with the recruitment mentality of Wigan?

Lenegan is about making wigan a profitable and successful club......wasting money on a wing in the hope of shifting a few more tickets isn't his way.........French union and a wannabee shirt is the immediate future for izzy....if he was a 6, 7 or even a 9, then yep, maybe look at him on a reasonable salary, but for a wing?

Israel Folau would likely play centre, not wing. That is where he played for Brisbane.
He would greatly exceeed the performance of George Carmont in that position, and make Wigan a powerhouse once again.
If Hock leaves for Parramatta in 2014 then Ian Lenagan will have more space under the salary cap for Israel Folau.
