| The crowd was an embarrasment on bbc1. Looked a joke for international game. Not been really pushed though by the RFL. Could have held at a venue and promoted the game to get at least 10k there.
The backs looked good. The team seemed to go ok but it's hard to judge really against the opposition

| Hardly a surprise that there are mentions of a low attendance . I wasn't even aware that England were playing today , or I would have been there . I got home from work , turned on the telly and was surprised to see the end of the commentary on an England RL match ..
If people such as myself are not aware that there is a game on what hope is there of drawing in new fans/spectators/supporters to our game ?

| Quote: Beverley red "Great the Welsh players gave what they had & people moan, Can't you support young lads representing their country. You can only play what is in front of you, yes it would have been better to play Australia or NZ but they can't be bothered. The only thing this has proved to me is that since we got rid of GB it has made the Welsh, Scots & Irish weaker, as people with conections to them like Carvell now opt for England. Except for world cup we should be GB when we play the Aussies & Kiwi's & all players should have play these games before they are eligable for GB.'"
NZ asked england to tour and the RFL refused!
England should have went to NZ instead of this joke tournament.

| It's certainly another RFL success story! Just not Been publicised at all. The fact sky are not showing it as well meant a lot less advertising of the tourniment at the end of season.

I didn't realise that. A massive mistake if true IMO.
A tour to NZ would have been far more benificial to the team than what we have

There were probably several thousands ways of finding out there was a game today, no exaggeration. I've been inundated with emails from the RFL, I read about RL in the press, I read the forums on here. It is all over the RLWC website, the RFL website, the Super League website, the Welsh RL website and the England RL website.
Short of Sam Tomkins coming around to your house and driving you to Wrexham, not sure what you were after.

Yes it's on RL websites, hardly great advertising attracting new people to the games. Media advertising has been poor. Then there is the product on offer. When money is tight it's hard to sell a series which isn't competitive at all

| Wales would have benefitted so much more playing against Scotland and/or Ireland. England, if they had to play anyone, would have got a better game against the Knights.
IMO Wales, Scotland and Ireland should have played for the 'Celtic Cup'. The Knights should be playing a two game series (home and away) against France. And personally I think an extra few weeks rest for our top players would have been far more beneficial to them, their clubs and the England side ahead of the 2013 season and the world cup that follows it than any number of cricket scores against whipping boys.

I was under the impression that NRL players had agreed that they would only play one international this off season? What would we have been touring?

| ..that there is not much point in having Welsh RL.....England, hardly 'world beaters', but still scored 80 points.
The Welsh are best at 'kicking & clapping'.

That is the story I heard, I am pretty sure that we asked NZ and they said they would only play one test.

| Same fixture twelve months ago at Leigh - 10,300 which looked great on camera as the capacity is around 14k.
Should have gone back there - slap bang in the middle of the catchment area for Wire, Wigan, Saints, Widnes and Salford fans, a good number of Leigh locals, within 1hr of travelling for fans from North Wales and West Yorkshire.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Pointless game and playing in a empty 3rd division stadium live on a Saturday afternoon is embarrasing.
A tour in NZ with games against NZ, Tonga and PNG would have been much more beneficial
