Clare is the perfect foil in my opinions, she's a person learning the game which the other people also new to the game can relate to, she brings up things not relevant to the analytical approach of getting coaches and players and people who know the game in. She'll bring up a daft looking haircut or the way a man gets up after being steam rolled, she's lovely and enjoyable to watch. If they drop her from the RL coverage i'll petition the BBC but leave her alone, she is the perfect balance and a breath of fresh air.
Me personally i like the Basil and Nobby bits because i understand the game but i do recognise her contribution and i feel comfortable watching it with other people because she 'brings them in'.

I know it goes against the grain around here but I agree with him, imo she always comes off as trying a bit too hard and she's had a sense of humor bypass . On the whole though she's very versatile and does a better job than most out there.

I don't think she is over the top at all.
She comes across as passionate about everything she does.
She was the best presenter at the olympics IMHO simply because it was obvious she had researched swimming to withing an inch of its life and was very interested in what she had found out about it.

Unlike Lineker who just seemed to be trying to slip the word 'football' into every interview he could.

The main thing is that she is respected by all her peers in RL and sport presenting/broadcasting. I thought her interview with Sinfield before the Cup final was tremendous and again she had researched him well.

She is a very welcome relief from the terrible twosome on Sky and much better than John 'Im looking down on everyone' Inverdale. Shame we couldnt get Gabby Logan to like RL. A bit of glamour to the old sport would have been even more welcome!
