Yeah it was a mile forward, as I said, he had a truly awful game.

| When Puletua bombed the try Silverwood was bundled over by a Bulls defender.
Will there be any bans for that and can anyone help Silverwood sort out his awful positioning?

You do know you aren't allowed to use your feet, right?
Clear 8 point try and he should get a ban for it too.

You are. It's called kicking and you are allowed to clear the ball with a kick.

Stupid comment.

| There was nothing in the Foster one at all. He barely flicked his leg out to try to kick the ball, it was a daft decision and he won't get anything approaching a ban.
Elima should get a ban, attacked the head and very late.

| The 8 point try was spot on, the try had already been scored, the boot made contact with the head. Careless, dangerous and rightly penalised. You can kick out to clear the ball, but not when there is no chance of hitting the ball and not when there is no point.
The Elima penalty was a penalty and nothing more, he went into the tackle, the ball was still in play so it wasnt in any way late, or dangerous it was just hard as nails.

The boot didn't make contact with the head though. His head hit Foster's knee which was what did the damage. The ball was free at the moment he flicked his foot out and the contact with the play was unintentional.
The Elima incident is a penalty and a borderline suspension even if Gaskell had the ball. It was high, contact was with the head and he took three or four steps after the knock on before he hit him. It was needless and just him lashing out at an easy target after he'd been niggling with Wilkin for a while. The ball wasn't still in play at all and Elima knew it, whether the ref had blown or not. You don't ever see players getting smashed after routine knock ons, it's just one of those things professional players don't do. If a player knocks on and the ref is slow with blowing the whistle, you don't smash them, it's not on. In that situation 99% of players would focus on the scrum or be pumped about forcing the error.

| Either way, the guy got a blow to the head in the act of scoring the try...
and when does an 8 point try get awarded...in the act - penalty try - after the act, no penalty, before the try, play on for the advantage...

| The Foster decision was correct - regardless of his intent, he lashed out with the boot in a dangerous position and ended up connecting with the attacking players head; good call.
Elima on the other hand, got off lightly; there was no need to smash Gaskell after what was a clear knock on - it was a fairly typical Elima play and came after he'd already been spoken to by the ref; he should have walked.
All in all, a pretty crappy game - fair play to Jeffries though; he's enjoying another of the purple patches that have allowed him to continue earning a living in SL.

| I have to admit, I have spent a few times wondering why some calls went against us with Silverwood. I was also left wondering how we got some calls today.
Some of his high shot penalties were very confusing both ways. Mainly down to the lack of conttact with the head.
He also got in the way a number of times, we needed Ryan Bailey out there.
