| I like two and three but one is way beyond stupid!
When we change things the reason should be to attain improvement.
Two and three may well improve the game, with one the game just loses credibility.

| Reading the full rules, under the power play, I note that the first point is
- Each team will receive one (1) optional power play in each half of the match.
It would be great if the captains of the respective teams in the all stars game declined to take this optional power play in protest of some idiots trying to ruin our great game

| While I could cope with 2 and 3 I don't think they should be brought in.
1 is absolutely ludricrous.

| 1. Laughable
2. Why stop here, why not just stop giving penalties all together, rules are there for a reason if you break the rules it should be a penalty!
3. imo the 40/20 rules already penalises good defence so why make it worse by giving the kicker more space to aim for and removing any skill from the kick. If they insist on these rules, I think they should be restricted to only the first 4 tackles to add a tactical element to the kick and not last tackle desperation!

| 1 is a stupid gimmick that should be treated with the derision it deserves.
2 is workable, but we'd benefit much more from a more consistent application of the rules that already exist in that situation; enforce them properly rather than tinkering around the edges.
3 looks like an easy option escape from pressure, but I don't think it would be used very often in practice.
Overall, a rather pointless exercise in tinkering with the rules when what should really be the focus of attention is stopping the coaching culture that encourages players to ignore the spirit of the laws whilst staying within the letter.

| I once suggested something similar to the 2nd rule when debating about how some games were becoming stop start because of all the penalties given for holding down, particularly at the start of the season.
Given that most offences around the play the ball are down to interpretation it's possible that a team could commit a certain offence twice and get away with it while another team could do it once and lose 40 metres in field position or concede 2 points from a penalty.
Wiping the tackle count would prevent the game from becoming stop start. While it does mean the team who commit the offence aren't punished as much it's often said that refs could find something to punish at every ruck. I think it would help the refs to become more consistent and perhaps ease the pressure when it comes to judging ruck infringements.

| The 6 to go seems a good idea, keeps the game flowing.
The power play is just silly.

| I've got a crazy, mad rule change coming from left field.
How about we all play the same rules all over the world?

| 1 & 3 - absolute rubbish and shouldn't be touched with a barge pole.
2 - has possible merit, would want to see it extensively trialled before tried at pro-level though.

Agreed.
How about this for a Rule change?
1) Rule changes can only be "considered" once every five years.

| 1) Absolutely insane.
2) Sounds OK but is very exploitable, stick to penalties.
3) Needs a bit of trialling but sounds like it could provide some more options, how hard is it to drop the wingers back to defend? Will possibly open up some wide counter-attacking moves on the last play.

| I like 2, should help the game flow a bit better, excellent idea. Not so sure about 3, could result in a bit too much kicking for territory/possession. Don't like the powerplay idea particularly but will probably have to see how it goes.

| the power play one is good.
It could have it's own theme tune and dance, and when a team opts for it, the theme tune blasts outs the tannoys and the cheerleaders do the dance.
You could have the reflex, just insert the words 'power play' into the lyrics.
Then 2 random players get taken off and the team get 2 plays to make it count.
