Two games in Kingston Upon Hull both with decent crowds doesn't smack of 'thinking small '
The idea of utilising Stanley Gene as an ambassador of some kind to get people watching PNG at MS3 Craven Park seems perfectly reasonable.
In fact why not have an ambassador for each venue ? A 'name' who can tap into the locals with a view to increasing attendances ? Maybe notable league fans like Joey Barton , Mark Weber, Graeme Swann etc. could be recruited...

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| Well if you only want a capacity of 11,000 for a international in a city that has just got 23,000 then yes it is small thinking.
How can we sell the game when we won't even buy it our self.

| Looking at the 2008 Wold Cup games not including the big three teams struggled to get over 10k. The only game that actually did that was Samoa v Tonga which got 11k. So it would seem a game at Craven Park would be reasonable to get a 10k attendance and call it a success.
I like the idea of an ambassador for different grounds. I guess we will know more when the stadiums are announced

It isnt small thinking though it is been realistic looking at past world cups. Last world cup Tonga v Scotland for just under 6k. I would much rather have that in a smaller stadium (keepmoat, Spotland, Craven Park) than have it played at the larger one with only one stand open, and then use the larger stadiums for the bigger games.

| Or you could sell double tickets at a cheaper rate and get big crowds for both.
Will craven park be fully sheltered for 2013? Will the south stand be acceptable for a international?

| It is possible that the current north stand will be moved to the south stand and have a new north stand by the time of the world cup. Maybe if they got accepted to host a game it would push them to actually build it and stop putting it back. I don't think it matters if its fully sheltered or not. Headingley and Odsal have both applied so it isn't in the criteria.
The boulevard and Barrows Craven Park both hosted a game in the 2000 world cup and they are worse than the MS3 Craven Park

| Did we ever get to the bottom of why Australia and England weren't allowed to train at Elland Road pre-final? If it really was the groundsmans call then I'd definately tell Elland Road that, in doing so, they've removed themselves from the candidates list.

So the Boulevard in 2000 is worse than Craven Park in 2011. Not really a fair comparison, with 11 years worth of renovation improvements.
Also - there wasnt the quality of stadia around then to compare the years fairly.
I honestly dont think CP will get a game

It wasnt a fair comparison I agree. I was just meaning that the last time we hosted the World Cup it wasn't all big and modern stadiums. I could have mentioned a lot of other grounds.
I think CP only chance of getting one is the link with PNG and the same with Rochdale and Fiji. But a sold out CP would any one complain about it?

Makes more sense, if England don't make it you'll get more neutrals in a northern ground
separate thing
To get help get decent crowds maybe give group tickets, by that i mean you get a booklet of tickets for all group games at a discount.

| A double header to start the competition at Wembley would be fantastic and build on the success of the 4 Nations. I'd fo for England v Aus and then NZ v PNG. Maybe they could run a few games at Wembley over a couple of days, Samoa v Wales etc.
I'd go for Wigan, Leigh, Salford, Saints, Leeds, Hull FC, Keepmoat, Hull KR, Stoop, Spotland, Warrington, Galpharm, Racecourse and Odsal for group stages.
Think it's more important to give our traditional locations games instead of ignoring some and sending teams to Bristol etc. I would however like to see games in expansive areas if possible providing they are marketed properly.
I'd say France, Wales and Ireland to play their games at home. Previously disagreed with games in Ireland or France but at least there would be better crowds. Wales could possibly play a game at both Cardiff and Wrexham.
I'd then say quarters at Sheffield, Cardiff (especially if Wales get there), Reebok/DW and Hull FC.
Semis at Elland Road and Eastlands - that way there are games in both Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Final at Old Trafford - as someone has previously posted, I can't see us filling Wembley if England aren't playing. I can however see us getting Old Trafford full as it's closer to the heartlands.
Hopefully we'll get the marketing right; adverts on radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, in host towns/cities and also on popular RL sites like this. No doubt it could be a fantastic tournament if we get it right but on the other hand, it could be awful if we get it wrong.
