| Quote: Asgardian13 "Sheens may bleat, but he would not have a leg to stand on. Even if he insists that the Kiwi 'lacks experience' (a reasonable view) Thierry Alibert is an SL ref and fully qualified to ref it as a neutral. To try to exclude Alibert would be akin to saying that no SL ref is up to it, and that's an insult too far.'"
And after last weekend's officiating debacle ...

| I hope it's the kiwi again and it's then up to McNamara to put plenty of pressure on him in the build up and to us as fans to get at him on the night.
We need to make his appalling performance last week work to our advantage next week.

| Quote: Mick Cranes Sidestep "It will be one of the squad of three that have already officiated. If its neutral, it will be Perenara.'" Yep,Thats what i was thinking of myself. Can*t imagine they will put a neutral ref (ie Alibert) for this one,and like someone else said he did make a "couple" of cock ups so it might work in our favour....

| Bentham has been, by a good way, the best ref of the 4 Nations.
I feel that the two ref system in the NRL might be diluting individual ref'ing standards. I know that Perenara should never have been selected in the first place but Cecchin is experienced, but he still looks to be way behind the pace of Bentham and less confident in ref'ing a game back on his own.
If they pick the best ref from the existing three (which I think they will), then it should be Bentham. I think giving it to Perenara would be a mistake because he is way off being experienced enough to take this game on and Cecchin is not as good as Bentham. So, if not Bentham it should be Alibert, who is both neutral and good enough.

| on sky it says sheens is pushing matt cheechin to ref no surprise there then i truely believe he sees as real threat to him. i dont know how to post link's but its under the ellis should be fit for the weekend. the article goes on to say he believes the ref with the best form should take the final spot and after he's complaint how bentham reffed the kiwi v aus match he isn't the best ref for it and steve doesn't want to be drawn into an arguement.

| I vote for jonny the leyther, I reckon the Aussies wouldn't know what'd hit em after 39 penalties against them in the first 20 minutes

| It should be Perenara, that's the only way to ensure fairness even though he might be more likely to make a mistake. Having an Aussie or an Englishman ref is an absolute disgrace.

| Not heard anything official yet (nothing on RFL site and no press release out yet) but I do believe it as it's written by Andy Wilson.
Interesting question; should it be selected on performance in the tournament or neutralness?

| looks like the aussie will get their way again, as usual. Pressure the ref in the lead up defo worried about England . Aus or NZ ref they know that they will always get the 50 /50 decisions .
