One thing at a time eh? Rome (or London RL) wasn't built in a day!

Would Brisbane Road be an option for London Broncos own home?'"
It's worth a lot more for housing than as a sports ground.
Barry Hearn bought it from the club for £6m; they pay £180K a year rent to use it.
The 4 corners of the ground were sold for flats - for more than 7 million in 2003. Presumbably the rest of the ground would be worth more than that.

| So you'd have to be asking the government for help with a grant wouldn't you? Can't see Sport England having enough sway to refuse that kind of money either. Cheers Jon.

Sport England just gave netball £1m to encourage women to play netball, I'll repeat that, Sport England just gave netball £1m to encourage women to play netball. Sport England are really flipping stupid and have had their budget cut by a third, so they seem to be intent on wasting their money, unfortunately not on rugby league.

So you want sport England to give netball 1 million to encourage women to play RL ?
Now that would be stupid

They give just short of £8 million per year to rugby league. As our adult participation numbers are on a par with sports like Korfball, it could be argued that we do extremely well out of Sports England. One of the undisputably good things that Richard Lewis has done for the sport.

Yeah right, don't you say that every year. Oh and some extra fans would be a nice addition.

The man in charge of Lodon's franchise knows what is required hence this is the 1st time the club have spent up to the cap. I for one cannot wait for the new season. hopefully win more games at home might get more punters through the door.

Agreed, I don't want to get too carried away after the last few seasons we have had, but I am REALLY looking forward to the 2012 season!

I would much rather be in our situation than playing at a toilet of a stadium, announcing wonderful signings such as Kyle Wood and only being in Super League on a technicality.

I'm disappointed I didn't get a game over the last few years with some of the guys who have taken the field in a London jersey.
We might have to go down this route if a few thousand extra fans don't buy into a half-decent London Rugby League side every other week next season.

| Do you have concerns about the coach London fans? Or do you feel confident he can guide you into the play offs?

True, just seems that the £1m could have been better spent, perhaps developing a game outside the traditional players, perhaps encourage womens rugby league rather than netball. It's like when the US govt spent $34 Million sending a letter, to let us know their giving us a tax rebate! Just doesn't need to be done.

Apparently we get £8m pa, just seems £1m to get girls to play netball is something that they have always played and will always play. £1m wasted IMO and could have been shunted elsewhere to get more girls playing cricket, rugby league or even soccer.
