| Why are people using this thread to cream themselves over how good the Australians are? I wouldn’t mind fawning to them if they were the World Cup or 4 Nations champions but they are neither

Why? Carvell has proved himself a better prop than Burgess over the past 4 or 5 seasons and is leading the Wire pack forward this year while Burgess didn’t exactly set the game alight for most of his Leeds career. I like Burgess but I cannot see why he would be in ahead of Carvell and I can only assume you would put him there is because of the competition he plays in and not the quality of his game

Faster than Wellens so maybe they should have played him at FB.

| Quote: Newton-Le-willows-Warrior "so with ellis, burgess, morley, westwood all likely to be out england could be looking at a team like
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Josh Charnley
3. Michael Shenton
4. Chris Bridge
5. Ryan Hall
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Danny Brough
8. James Graham
9. James Roby
10. Jamie Peacock
11. Joel Tomkins
12. Chris Heightington
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Kevin Sinfield
15. Gareth Carvell
16. Lee Mossop
17. Luke Robinson
Move O'Loughlin into the second row when Sinfield comes on.
Farrell, Wilkin and Hock in back up.
Mossop must be in the side as 4th prop he has been immense this season and would stand up big time against the aussies and kiwi packs.'"
I would prefer:
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Josh Charnley
3. Michael Shenton
4. Chris Bridge
5. Ryan Hall
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Danny Brough
8. James Graham
9. James Roby
10. Eorl Crabtree
11. Gareth Hock
12. Ben Westwood
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Joel Tomkins
15. Gareth Carvell
16. Lee Mossop
17. Luke Robinson
No Place for Peacock any more in my book unfortunately, too old. Joel on the bench gives us injury cover for the backs as well as a rotation for the 2nd row. Hock can be pushed into the front row if necessary. Westwood should be back for the 4 nations. Crabtree has been coached well in a good side all season and has looked good for England in the past.

| Charnley should be included in the England set up as a portable turnstile for each stadium to use as they wish.

At least he'll have a nice time in London.

I would worry that after a season in the centres, J Tomkins wouldn’t have the size or current style of game to compete internationally in the pack. Added to that, I think Westerman is a little lightweight for international football
That pack would look a fair bit stronger with Sam Burgess and Gareth Ellis available wouldn’t it – you could interchange those two with Westwood in the second row and Mossop, Carvell, Graham and Peacock in the front row
Without Ellis and Burgess, I would add Ben Harrison for some size in the back row

opinion of the NRL commentators is that jack reed of the broncos will not play for england as he could well be part of the aus set up in the future (don't know if he is eligable for Origin or not)

if he opted to play for England, he'd still be eligible for origin though right? i'm thinking back to Adrian Lam
