| Is it not too late for this now? How are they going to shift that many tickets for a game no one has any appetite for because we're incapable of winning it.

I'd be staggered if there isn't 80K RL fans in the UK who couldn't afford 50quid for a trip to a Int RL match.

A packed out Wembley cheering England on, also a rousing national anthem just might find another gear in this England team. Who knows we may actually win. I can't imagine playing for your country in places like Leigh, Huddersfield Leeds and Wigan will fill you with adrenaline? Playing at Wembley will I don't doubt.

A packed Wembley? What are the chances of that? Realistically, given the ridiculously delay in announcing the 4N fixtures, what is the crowd likely to be? I can't see more than 30,000 turning up.
33,758 showed for the 2000 World Cup at Twickenham. This was after a good 18 months of 'RFL' hard sell and marketing. Now they've got a few months and have also got the Challenge Cup and Grand Final marketing in the same time frame.
Unless they employ some proper outside marketing agencies this has the potential to be an absolute disaster.

| Would be good if the RFL could co-ordinate with Crusaders, South Wales Scorpions and the Welsh amateur clubs to try and organise transport to the Wales games. Think it would hugely improve the atmosphere and possibly even ticket sales if there was a chance of a decent sized Welsh contingent seated together.

| Only two pages to get negative... not bad.
It's at Wembley and people like to go there... so we have a chance.
Saracens got 40,000 odd for a Aviva Premiership match and the Carling Cup final was a sell out.
An England international of whatever sports should attract enough people to make it look full.

surely thats the WRL's job to organise welsh clubs and support......not the RFL...
the welsh are gonna get a few world cup games in a couple of years...its time the WRL started stepping up and show us they are capable

| If the match is in London, the RFL should be pushing it as an event in that area. Rugby, England vs Australia. That is an event worth watching. It shouldn't have to rely on 90,000 RL fans going on mass down south. I will be attending but I think the RFL should view this as a national opportunity.

Maybe hand vouchers out for the game at the CC final and grand final?
All amatuer clubs get discounted tickets?
I didn't say it would be easy, but the RFL have given themselves a challenge now so let's see if they're upto it. What I do hope is that the people who moan about the attendance of said game don't do it from their armchair!

Fair point, although I dare say the RFL would want to control anything like that. Likewise, it would be good for the RFL to try similar initiatives for coach travel from the 'heartlands' etc.

| As there are perhaps 120,000 people who are prepared to pay to watch rugby league in the SL rounds, then that is a good base from which to draw a healthy crowd for such an imaginative double header at such a prestigious venue.
Whinging about competition from the CC and SL GF is just that - whinging for the pure sake of it - because the 4N cannot be at any other time, for reasons anyone with more than 2 brain cells that can communicate with each other will know, and those 2 well-established events will be unaffected.
The question is, how many will be enthused to go to Wembley as well? I think an awful lot, especially if the ticket deals are as attractive as the ones for the major finals. For the first time I can remember, the RL marketing seems to be making a good fist of it this year and have now shown the balls and chutzpah to put on a big show at Wembley. Good on them, and to me, it can't fail to be a success. Expecting Wembley to be full is unrealistic but a respectable crowd should certainly be achievable if you think what's on offer. I seem to recall similar doomsayers whinging that nobody would watch the Exiles game.

| How can we ensure we get a fair following from Wales?
Thats the chance we have, its not often Welsh folk get to grace Wembley, so how do we attract them (rugby fans)?

This isn't going to go down well in some quarters, but I'd be tempted to evoke memories of Wales win at Wembley against England in the Five Nations (2000-ish?). I actually reckon it would have been easier to sell these games as the opening round of fixtures and Australia-New Zealand followed by England-Wales.
Would have been much easier to market to the Welsh as an opportunity to give England a bloody nose at their national stadium IMO.

| Does anyone know what the capacity of just the first tier is? Should just sell them first so it looks packed on TV incase ticket sales aren't that great. Even if 60,000 go there will be 30,000 empty seats which won't look great but it will be great to get to have a double header in the capital and showcase our sport.
