| Quote: Sal Paradise "Did the floods effect Townsville and the Gold Coast?'"
Cyclone yasi hit Townsville before the season kicked off, google it and learn something.
And since when do all of the Titans supporters come from the Gold Coast, isn't it 40 mins away from Brisbane?
Or are you saying it's only in Australia that you have to follow your local team?
How was your stay in one of the world's most important cities? (wipes tear from soho born eye)

Quote: Rooster Booster "cut back on the names and expletives eels please.'"
It's like talking to a brick bloody wall with some of this mob.
The average is up this year.
Some may have a point if the draw was the same as last year and the year before.
But it's not.
There are plenty of big games to come yet and we are already doing better than last year.
Instead of going round by round to see if it's up, how about looking at the individual games against the same teams last year, that tells the real story.

It's there in black and white.

No animosity, its just a fact. if you look at any of the sports clubs in Sydney and factor in popualtion size live sport doesn;t draw big crowds generally like many other places.
London was great, had a wander around soho showing the missus some of the sights!
Been at CP today for the derby, geez if we had atmospheres like that at games we'd sell them out in oz!
From the bright lights of East Hull to Venice next.

East Hull to Venice. Will you notice any difference?
Soho, bless it.
Yeah, as for atmosphere at games, unfortunately as hard as our australian cousins try, they don't seem to match it. Though it is amusing at Souths fans attempts to sing a version of "barmy army".

| OK........so we didn't get enough fans to games to keep tabs on 2010, but at tye half way point of the regular season the figures make pretty OK reading.
1,587,652 fans have watched 96 games, giving an average of 16,538 per game only 66 a match down on 2010 at this stage of the season.
SoO is looking like getting 3 sell out crowds and the Anzac test was only 1k short of being a sell out........all in all, given the bad weather that hit 'Stralia earlier this year and the hardship faced by many, this sin't a bad state of affairs at all.
The trick is now for the NRL/ARL to kick on with some extra marketing initiatives to get more fans to games.....round 14 is a tricky one with Manly and St G both playing in open/uncovered Bowls......at the mercy of the Rain, whilst the Storm on a Monday is never going to break records......the Warriors might get a few for the visit of Benji and the Broncos might get a few on Sunday afternoon, but rather than just shrug the shoulders and accept lesser gates in the SoO affected games why not do special offers?
Tracking like for like......80k+ would be acceptable this coming weekend, but 100K is where it should be IMO.

You're forgetting Eels fans FACT that "NSW are into their clubs more" so there should be good crowds for the Dragons and Manly games, even with Origin on.

Didn't forget it......
Dragons v Titans attracted 12,668 last year (July) and 13,329 in 2009 (March)...........I reckon 15k if it's dry.
Manly v Cowboys attracted 9,343 in 2008 which I think was the last time that fixture was played. I reckon 12k if it's dry.
Both grounds offer very little protection from the elements.......if it Rains, then 11k at St G and 8k at Manly...IMO than is.
