So lets straighten this out, you're not vexed off at the officials for being poor, you're vexed off because they called it against St Helens.
It always annoys you a bit more when it's against you. But the standard of officiating in SL is at an all time low and doesn't do the sport justice. It's time things changed.

It quite funny how the one-eye fans spit the dummy big time when a call goes against them.(Just check your original post )
But yes you're right about the officiating, abysmal.

| the only time forward passes will be penalised more often in rl is when the nrl(we always follow suit) outlaw the flat pass and the momentum rule. at full speed the officials have a hard time judging forward passes if flat passes n the momentum rule is taken into consideration.and do we really want a video ref decision every time a pass is possibly forward,as that is the only surefire way to get them all

It's not about getting them all, it's about employing officials that can call on the obvious. If players are moving at full speed after a break, the ref is running flat out to keep up and the pass is quick and short no one minds that kind of mistake. But when the referee is perfectly positioned, the touch judge in line with the pass and the pass is a relatively slow pass from a player stood on a line which gives a perfect judge of direction and you see it leave his hands diagonally towards the oppoistion line you expect them to notice.
It's those kind of moments where the Video Referee (Without those watching knowing if needs be) says "Hang about, miles forward Woody, give it forward". Or even a guy sat in the stands with a radio.
That or bring in an appeal system cricket stylee. No video referee and up to three referalls per game, as per cricket being used up if unsuccessful. They say they cannot use the video for forward passes because of angles and the like, but that is rubbish. They can do it, they just haven't bothered yet. I could invent the required tech in seconds, just throw a GPS into the ball. If it records a forward motion from the hands, it explodes once it hits the hands of the receiving player. Job done and it makes it more spectacular for Sky, which they would be delighted with.

Your personal outstanding efforts to do this would be appreciated by the RFL

Exactly, given my abilities I would be passing the exams within a month and on Sky merrily waving off Wigan tries within 2.
Are you a ref Leaguefan? You always seem to defend them when I state the truth on here about the officials.

indeed. they say VR cant deal with forward passes, but the sky team who have the benefit of multiple monitors with multiple camera feeds almost always call forward passes as forward passes, and they like the rest of us watching the game on TV (fed to us through CAMERAS) almost always get it right. especially with exmaples like todays.
im also all for the exploding ball

Superleague has been absolutly shocking this year for forward passes. Refs seem to be ignoring passes to allow try scoring opertunities. When are the RFL going to crack down on this? It's making a mockery of the game. What the hell are the touch judges there for?'"
Time to use the video ref and bollox to "the problems with angles". They get so many wrong now that even if they got a few wrong with the VR it wouldn't be as many as without. It's a joke these days.

Thought Wigan were let back into the game at 10-0 down to a dodgy penalty. Referees need to get a grip on Tomkins.

Interesting new cheat tactic isn't it. What can we call this one? The washing machine? The forward roll of cheat? The crocodile roll of death?

| it's getting ridiculous now, fair play to ganson though today,he chalked off 2 giants tries for forward passes which both looked marginal, but that wasn't a sky game though.

| I'm a qualified ref, and I honestly cannot believe the shocking standard of superleague refs. Alibert and Ganson are the only refs that stand out to me as ones that can hack the top level. The lower tier refs arn't a heck of a lot better, but at least they see the obvious.
Childs, Silverwood, Thaler are absolutly shocking. It's understandable though, as a 6 year old could pass the reffing tests to qualify. 95% of the posters here could pass them.
I'm honestly wondering, if refs have been told not to give forward passes if they offer try scoring chances. The amount i've seen this year is unbearable.

| A couple of forward passes ruled correctly in the Salford vs Warrington game, from both sides. The ref got in great positions to see them.
