Sky should have had the knackers to show Clarke the door the minute he put that article on their website.

I would suspect that the management at SKY would prefer their pundits to write interesting and thought provoking articles to be honest

Whether you agree or disagree with what he said (or believe that he should have been fired for saying it), the reason SKY have these articles on the site is to create comment and generate activity – I would guess it did both of those

As for whether he should have sacked due to the content, I would be surprised if the management team at SKY even noticed it let alone felt it was a disciplinary issue

Jon Wells is pretty good, seems like a natural to me and I would like to see him progress from the pitchside to play a bigger role. Carney and Baz are good as pundits with a bit of craic. Tez and Offiah for me are just awful.

I can see Jon Wells being the main summariser if the Eddie and Stevo show are shown the door (I wouldn't mind Eddie and Wells in tandem to be honest)

I know that people like Stevo and consider him a character but I would prefer the commentary team to be informative rather than just funny! (plus, I'm sure that Wells' tactical insight will be a little more than "a little chip over the top" - if I hear that phrase one more time from Stevo, I'll throw my beer through the TV)

I agree with Big Ask re Wells, Carney, McDermott and O'Connor & Offiah.
I also agree with you re Stevo. Maybe keep him for pre-match, half-time & post-match stuff, but leave the commentary to Eddie & Wells with Carney & McDermott chipping in.

Keys and Gray were caught off camera/microphone so it is a very different issue

Either Clarke's piece went through an internal process at SKY to validate the suitability of the content or it has passed by without SKY being motivated to look at it

Say what you like about Clarke and what it says about him but the remarks he made are not in same category as the sexist one's extolled by Keys and Gray

What Clarke said lacked class. It was crass and insensitive and the only thought it provoked was 'what a kn0b' and its knee-jerk idiocy was only matched by a noisy minority of Wigan fans who embarrassed their club.

There is a vast difference between thought provoking and controversial, and just offensive. There was nothing in what Clarke said bar offence. No further debate to be had. It didnt highlight anything or help the game move forward. It was just a mean spirited and offensive rant.

I prefer "they've got to utilisise the dummy runner," usually said straight after a move involving three or four dummy runners has been used.
