I think a lot of the issues with Bentham tonight can really be put down to interpretations. Some of the decisions or lack of could be down to him not being 100% tonight, but I think on the whole he just has a different interpretation of rules to other refs, players, commentators, fans. His interpretations aren't by any means as extreme as Childs though. Its part of the game and always has been and if anything makes match more interesting because it brings in a bit of controversy. Plus, it differentiates our code to the other one, a game ruined by rules.

So what was he doing there - sightseeing? He knew the ball was going to be kicked, and so turned his back as he'd rather be twotted there than his front. Simple.
If he had not intended to block the kick, he would not have been running into position to do so, and more to the point, he would have ducked. I didn't see him duck.
Correct, and pretty basic, decision.

On a Saturday evening, on TV with £20 entrance fee (£10 if you got a Hull KR ticket) and against a team who brought probably 5 fans at the most so yeah, shocking crowd
Is it have a pop at Cas night? Sorry we're top of the table guys I know it should be Leeds, Wigan or St Helens and not Cas

| I'd also question Bentham's penalty against Cas mid way through the second half. He decided that Jones put in a high shot after a good kick-chase. For me Jones went in low, but the the Catalans player was going down in the tackle, Jones made initial contact with the shoulder, but his arm ended up on the face. In the speed of the motion it seemed like a hit shot. That seemed harsh.

From what I've seen the last few years, they don't care if the initial contact was low first anymore, if it ends up high it's a penalty (when they can be bothered to pick up on it...)

Considering 1 of the requirements for a SL license is to have an average crowd of 10k then yeah it is a worry.
And no Leeds, Saints and even Wigan don't deserve to be top, Cas do as they have pulled out some good results. HTH

I'm not having a go at Cas. You're top of the table because you deserve to be there and you are playing some good stuff.
It's just 4889 for a team unbeaten so far and sitting top of the league? Wakey managed more than that last night, that was on a Friday night, on SKY, but also, Wakey aren't playing well at all and we all know about their off the field problems. Wire probably brought around 700.
Granted Les Catalans brought about 5 but what does that matter? This means there were 4884 home supporters.

With discounted tickets, against Warrington who took a large following.
The local rag gave half price tickets out for the game which will have boosted figures...and the fact some Wakey fans are saying there was nowhere near 5k there.
Is the 8.5 last week against KR a better number for you?

| Quote: Dunbar "With the magic of Sky+, I’ve just gone back to take another look at it
Orr gets the ball and Sa makes an effort to close him down and block the kick – at the last second he turns his back so it hits him on the backside
In my opinion, he made a deliberate effort to charge the ball down and the ref got it right'"
What are the defenders meant to do on the 5th tackle, run backwards? Of course they were moving towards the player, its what you do when the ball is played. You tend to move towards the bloke with the ball too.
Awful decision.
