Yes the players do need to take some of the blame but Agars selections and bench policy are baffling at times...he is scared for the players to be expansive.....over coaches got the sack for a lot less and had a better win ratio than agar.

If the players wont do the WORK they are paid to do, and it's obvious they are not, somehow people don't want to sack them!!!
However if it's not DIRECTLY involved with the game, they do!!!!
Wierd or what
It's the coaches job to get the best out of the players.
If someone like Richard Agar was in charge of the Kangaroos, England would stuff them.

Ah so it's NOT up to the players to get the best out of themselves!!!
Thank you for the clarification.

It's up to everybody everywhere in every walk of life to get the best out of themselves. It doesn't mean they can do it by themselves.

| You're absolutely right Wellsy, NZ showed what happens when they get a coach who can make them play to their potential and make them believe.
Even if you don't have a team capable of razzle dazzle footy, you can instill in them pride about their defense, this means they'll be a damn hard team to beat whenever they play even though they aren't in the same ballpark compared to the opposition in regards to attack.
Hull should be a top side with their players and Salford could be a middle range club this year without leaking 50 points a match.
If the coach don't believe, how does anyone expect the players too?
It starts from the top.

| Why these two?
Harrison was great for us but that period from June to his sacking still gives me shivers: once Dunnemann was injured/gone we were in decline.
McRae ... well I'll say it to his face, not on here.
You missed out Millward (if rumours from Leigh are correct).
I feel you may get more comment if this was on the Salford board.
As a long-suffering Salford fan and more.

Its down to the coach to put players in the correct position, and come up with some sort of positive tactic.Agar ,unfortunatly seems incapable of either. Can`t speak for Bomber,as I don`t watch Salford on a regular basis.

| According to Andy Wilson in the Guardian one player has commented that Salford have "signed some lemons" this close season. Wilson obviously points out Feka as one. Any idea who the others are? Bailey's a bit biscuit boned and is steady at best really but who else?

That's if he'll ever play, he's managed to avoid 4 friendlies and 2 SL games so far, Vinnie Anderson isn't much better he managed a few minutes in a Pre-season friendly. I'm not sure Feka is a lemon as such I think it's the way we (McRae) uses him, nothing like the way he was utilised at Wigan. Patten has had a slow start and may now need surgery after a nose injury, Wild has gone Ok (If anyone has I suppose) Nero has been on and off, Godwin, well Godwin, when he's been on the park he's been potentially our best however since he's joined us (under McRae) his discipline has vanished. Sean Gleeson has only features in friendlies so far.
It's been very clear for all to see that our main problem is McRae and the fact the players don't want to play for him (As for the players part in all this and their responsibility, that's a different thread altogether) so until he leaves, I can, sadly, see this current form continuing.
