I would put money on Leeds finishing above Hull and Bradford finishing above Salford.

Bradford have massively more strength in depth than last year (not hard, since last year we had feck all).

It was injuries, losing Toerag to injury especially, and no strength in depth - plus the disruption over Macca going for the England job early in the season - did for us last season.

Most Bulls fans see the players coming in as a general improvement (and in probable attitude as much as ability) - we'll miss Beaver, and Toerag was a curate's egg but when good anyone would miss him.

We still have a quota spot and cap space free, so we can take steps if and when that becomes necessary.

The off-field issues have been stabilised and are no longer to the fore.

We had a total [iannus horribilis[/i last year. We must surely have a significantly better year this year, even if we are still a bit pants? And remember, that team from last season was nevertheless 4th in the table until Macca decided he was off and Toerag got injured?

So, has every other team improved so much that - despite all that - we won't finish any higher than last year? eusa_think.gif

So, has every other team improved so much that - despite all that - we won't finish any higher than last year? I'd agree with all that, my positioning of Bradford in 9th was more as a result of the fact that I think it's going to be very close rather than a particular comment on Bradford. I think it'll be close from 1st to 4th, even closer from 5th to 12th with 1 or 2 games probably deciding the outcome. Whilst Bradford have strengthened so have Salford, Huddersfield & Hull KR. I also think the halves will be an issue for Bradford still and may still cost you a couple of games.
Like I said though it's going to be close. I could see Bradford finishing anywhere from 12th up to around 3rd or 4th.

I don't think hull have the strength in depth to challenge for a top 8 place, there is a reason they are after witt and chase! because if one of long or horne get's injured they are in big trouble. Wigan and Warrington have both strengthened, wigan will be strong where we where at our weakest last year- in the forwards. With Lima, Hoffman, Finch we are stronger, plus people are forgetting the mid season introduction of Gareth Hock who makes us even more stronger.

Warrington Look alot stronger in the backs but I worry about their squad age! Morley, Briers, King, Hodgson are all the wrong side of 30. St.Helens have strengthened and will be there abouts yet again.

The suprise packages for me will be salford and bradford, both should be mounting a serious charge for the 8!

Crusaders this year is just about consolidation and building. Get a few young welsh lads in the side and see how they do. Elliot Kear and Lloyd White are two who I would like to see take super league by storm!

It would appear a top of three of: Wigan, Wire and Saints, is a fair bet. With, possinly, Hudds and the Rhino's scum taking four and five, with the possibility breaking into the top three. Behind them it could be close all the way down to Crusaders, Quins and Wakey. From six to eleven, everybody looks much stronger.

As Salford fan, the players coming in gave vastly stronger look to what we had at the start of last season. Vinnie Anderson, Patten and all proven match winners, who should gel very nicely with our match winners like Broughton, Holdsworth, Henry and Ratchford. Gibson looked very good at times last year, and looks much quicker than at the start of last season. If the forwards start hitting the ball at pace and from depth, the Salford backline could really hurt some teams this year. On the downside we've still got McRae, and lot depends on how much the likes of Anderson and Bailey have got left in the tank.

If Cas can overcome the loss of Shenton and Westermann, and keep hold of Chase they, too, could go well.

Bradford still look like they lack some punch in the forwards, but Elima is a quality signing for them. Alot depends on how the rest of their signings go and what sort of shape Walker will be in. I just don't think they've signed enough quality.

Hull FC, I don't know what it is about FC but they just look there for the taking, they haven't made a great deal of signings and weren't brilliant last year. Though I expect to be proved wrong.

Hull KR, their season hangs on what Mason can give them!! If it's the same one I saw a couple of seasons ago, whilst down under, he could be one hell of a big waste of money!!

As a wishful Salford fan! I'd go for, Salford splitting the Hull teams for seventh, followed by Cas or Bradford.

Wigan
Wire
Saints
Hudds
Leeds
Hull KR - if Mason shows up in both mind and body.
Salford - if the team gels.
Hull FC
Bradford or Cas
Bradford or Cas
Catalans
Wakefield
Quins

We're coming to make some noise!:

I wouldn't say our season hinges on Mason, who have we lost from our pack from last season? David Mills? Frankie Mariano? Even if Mason performs like he did 2 years ago we still have a better player coming in but not lost anyone who didnt get us a top 7 finish last year.

For me HKR's season hinges on Dobson and Green linking up well. As great as I think Murrell is the reports I got from the Huddersfield game was that once he's settled he'll be a real class player.

wakefield and quins both look light on paper while the crusaders will be hampered with -4 points as will wakefield,i really see it been pretty tight in the middle of the table and it will come down to injuries and the bounce of the ball has their is very little between hudds, hull, hkr, cas, bradford, salford and catalans the top 4 picks its self and while wigan are obviously on the up as are wire leeds and saints look to be going through a rebuilding process but both still have bundles of talent.

I meant, Mason could be what pushes you up the table and give the bit extra than the rest of the middle order. Even with him, I can't see you threatening Wigan or Wire, they've still got more class. Maybe Leeds or Hudds??? To be honest I'd take O'Donnell or Hoffman over Mason!!! There's a chance he'll go well against the lesser teams, but I'd expect the top four/five sides to close him down too quickly for him to cause any problems. I only say this becuase of what I've seen. He needs to turn up in mind and body, otherwise he'll end up a target for the oppositions defence.
