As my home city I always will have an affection for Hull but it is one of those cities that is so bad its good! Despite all the social problems and "roughness" the people are the most down to earth and willing to help each other (reminds me of the Aussie way alot) and yes it is pure RL for may people. Families are mired in the red and white/black and white divide. So much so that when I used to go to derby games with my uncle as a wee nipper I had to walk on the other side of the road to him as he was FC and me and my sister supported KR! If they lost he refused to talk to anyone during Sunday dinner at my grannies! They talk about the derby rivallary in Perth for the AFL teams but it does not come close to the lead up to a Hull derby, especially if it is a big game.

that derby game i went to at the KC was one of the best RL games ive been too

JB there's only ONE derby in British RL and that's Saints v Wigan and you know it.  |

As it is, the AFL nude photo thing with the pix on facebook got more coverage over here in NZ than Mons 1 man and his dog show.
Both codes have issues with player behaviour...but let's be honest, these guys are hardened sports professionals who are not employed for their common sense...they are going to mess up. Dependin on what paper you read and where that paper is based/who owns it, you will always get differing coverage....it's really not a major conspiracy, just a fact of life.

as usual gutters knowledge is nil
the AFL spent lots of money each year buying favourable editorial coverage from aussie media
if you doubt this go on any aussie RL chat site and ask the question then come back and admit that yet again, youve failed |
