| So basically what we are saying is that the last ten years of SL has provided very little in way of quality. Would be good to do one from the 80s and 90s and compare

| Quote: who needs flankers? "Fielden shouldn't be in that team. I don't see a reason why Peacock should be in 2nd row either when there have been players like Cassidy, Joynt and even Solomona.'"
I would imagine that Fielden has been selected because in his peak Bradford years he was by far the most dominant forward in Super League for a number of years. To suggest that the Stuart Fielden of the 2005/6 cannot be in a Super League team of decade but Cassidy, Joynt and Solomona should be is quite ridiculous (all fine players but nowhere near the best of Fielden)

[quote="Steve":1xb0p6sn] Dislike Leigh with a passion, but they are a million miles ahead of any other club in this league, a sad fact. [/quote:1xb0p6sn]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_24148.jpg |

Quite possibly the only time you'll read those 2 words in relation to a thread like this!

| Quote: Fully "Pedantic is good and as to disagreeing, yeah, me.
99 was the last year of the nineties, therefore, that makes 00 the first year of the noughties and as such to me that is the start of a decade.'"
Technically, a decade is simply 10 years, so you're both correct! 1996-2005 was also a decade, as was 23-32.
The current year numbering system started at 1 A.D., and so was the start of the first decade. It logically follows then that 2011 is also the first year of the succeeding series of decades, and that 2001-2010 was the previous one.
Like you say though, people tend to group decades based on the logical grouping of the "10" column into nineties, eighties etc.
Both of you are right, neither of you is wrong
