| Don't forget that Vinnie Anderson, Richie Mathers and Kevin Penny all left in September as well and now Hicks.
Vinnie Anderson - Would have been on a decent contract as he joined us from Saints
Richie Mathers - Wouldn't have exactly been on peanuts
Kevin Penny - At the time it would have been a bigger contract to keep other clubs at bay when he was on fire.
Sad to see Hicks retire but he's been a great player for us and left some fantastic memories.

| Our sport is a joke! A complete utter joke!
There is no way whatsoever that Warrington have not payed Hicks off! They now have 2 international centres in Atkins and Bridge fighting for a starting spot.
If Warrington don't win the league with that squad then they need shooting. I hope the likes of Rhys Evans now leave because of limited oppotunities.

Those 3 may have left but Brett Hodgson came in and I don't think he would be playing for peanuts.

| Chris Hicks is nearly 34.
Sure, playing into your 30's is not a major problem in SL but even so... he is no spring Chook is he.

I've got no problem at all with the Hicks salary thing. Monaghan will be on less this season than he will next season no doubt.
The real scandal in this is why Chris Hicks would turn down his latest contract to retire and get nothing? As hinted at by a few above the suspicion is that he has been compensated for losing his contract. Moran has more than enough business interests to make that happen, he could also do it personally. The RFL/SL won't have a chance of finding out what happened and given how amateurish RL in this country is they probably won't even try.
Despite the cap being in place one does have to wonder if the playing field is really as level as they make out. I'm sure an awful lot goes on 'off piste' that we'll only find out about when someone releases an autobiography in the future.

Of Course Saints have no 'form' at all when it comes to this sort of thing

| Monaghan as signed a 1 year deal therfor he isent guaranteed an increase. On top of signing Hodgson they have renewed Bridge, Westwoods and Harrisons contracts.
The signing needs investigating. It stinks of cheating.

| Ah, the old "Warrington are cheating the salary cap" argument. It rears its ugly head every time we get a player to sign pen to paper. Yet you all seem to be forgetting that the cap is now live, and has been for some time. The RFL would never have registered the player if we weren't under the cap. Secondly, we have a brilliant finance manager who seems to know the operational rules inside out. I've met the man, he puts an awful lot of time into his job.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

You seem to forget the live cap in the NRL
I do wonder how everyone seems to know every other clubs salaries and how much under the cap they are though.

| Have to admit I wouldn't think it was possible to put a squad together as good as Warington's and fit it under the cap, but there's no real evidence of any skulduggery on their part. If anything I think they deserve praise for obviously not paying over the odds for players.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| Quote: Saddened! "Warrington seem to be headed down the Wigan route. Not caring about the production of youth players and forcibly retiring players to sign more overseas players.
They will have an outstanding team. One has to wonder about the legality of it all, but no doubt they will be paying Monaghan more from next season if King retires then.'"
One 34 year old Australian out. One 28 year old Australian in. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you're being 'funny'.
