As it can in RL since league position is one of the factors taken into account in the license decisions.

Not be a problem for Crusaders from now on , if they survive financially they will be a bottom 3 club for the next 3/4 years , and lets face it since when do/did the RFL actually follow their own rules ?

With the franchise system, points deductions are irrelevant as at their present stage of developement the Crusaders were never going to finish high enough in the table to have a realistic chance of getting to Old Trafford anyway. Also, consider this - if you were interested in taking over the Crusaders, would you do it unless you were guaranteed a license in the next round of 'applications'? I wouldn't if it looked like the team were going to be put down into the Chamionship at the end of next season (also see Martyn Sadler's comments in League Express about rumoured Sky intervention in this!).

It will be 6 point deduction, equivalent to 3 wins. Championship clubs lose 9 points as they get 3 points for a win. |
